Is Estradiol really necessary if there are no lining problems?

Hi Doctors,

I just had my egg retrieval today (got 12 eggs!) and I'm supposed to begin prometrium suppositories and 2mg Estrace tonight. However, I've been reading that Estrace is used to thicken uterine lining. My uterine lining measured 10.4 the day before I triggered, and my RE seemed pleased with that. So, is it really necessary for me to take Estradiol? I'm hesitant because the possible side effects sound just like the ones for BCPs, and I had a terrible experience with BCPs and had to stop them (stomach probs, depression, etc.)

Please advise -- thanks!

what side effects did you have on Clomid?

Those of you who took clomid did you find you cramped alot more?? and for longer prior to AF? As well as have a longer cycle? this was my first cycle and im more messed up than i normally am..atleast when i am not on clomid i know af arrives exactly 16 days after ovulation. Now on clomid i am on cd 38..i know i ovulated either dec 1 or 2nd as per my progesterone reading and other signs and from what the Dr said so i should have started the latest yesterday and its still hanging on...i keep getting the cramping and have since Tuesday night! anyone else get this? I just wish if its going to start that it would..i just wanted to see with those on clomid if you experience that cramping off and on alot before Af and if it stops completely and starts back up....

Can the side effects of progesterone pills increase?

I'm on progesterone pills (200) twice a day vaginally. Can the side effects increase as I get closer to my period due day? Does progesterone effect an HPT?

Is it too early for pregnancy symptoms?

I had my last period starting Nov. 15th. I took Clomid 50ml days 3-7. about 10 days ago I started getting cramps, sore nipples and having to pee all the time. I have read that it is too early to have pregnancy symptoms but I have also read that a lot of women on Clomid DID NOT have sore nipples and frequent urination except when they were in fact pregnant. I know that the most obvious answer is to wait and take a test but I am a mountain guide and need to know before I leave for a trip.

Clomid side effects

I started Clomid 100mg on day 5 of my cycle and felt great I never had any side effects. On day 17 of my cycle I started getting stomach cramping, nausea and fatigue. It's four days later and I still feel crapy. Is this a side effect? If so, why did I not have side effects when I took it? Please Help!!

What is Clomid doing to my body?

I am in desperate need of some advice! I have been having 5-7 days of premenstrual brown discharge for a while now. The doc put me on Clomid and for the past three months the discharge is much, much lighter but still exists. I was told it is not interfering with conception and have had many tests. Does that sound right? What is Clomid doing to my body? Why is the spotting LIGHTER on Clomid but not COMPLETELY gone? This cycle, due to cysts, he does not want to put me back on Clomid so I am expecting my typical horrible discharge. I am a nervous and frustrated wreck!

Has anyone ever experienced really bad cramps after taking Clomid during their ovulation time? Today is my day 12 which the doctor said I should be ovulating between day 12-21. Has anyone else experience this pain?

Dreading Clomid Cycle 2

Today I start my second cycle of clomid. I'm nervous. My first cycle did not go well. First of all, AF lasted 10 days. I got two days of positive OPK's when blood work showed I never O'ed. Also, I was super thirsty for two weeks, gained a few pounds when my diet was no different than usual, and started spotting cd 17 all the way through AF- even through the Provera. Now I have AF again with the worst cramps I've ever had. I talked to my moron dr about all the issues and he said "It's all normal." ........

And all that was on 50 mg. I've now been upped to 100mg since 50 didn't bring on O.....

I have a feeling this is going to be a difficult holiday season.

wish me luck ladies.

Clomid Day 3 (CD 5) Anyone Want to Join me?

I'm on Clomid Day 3 for my first round of treatment (ttc for 1 year, recenly diagnosed w/ PCOS)... I'm new to all this, but thankfully so far the only side effects I've had are nausea and a little cry-ish.

Can't wait to finish the meds Tuesday and starting waiting to O!

Starting Metformin for Insulin resistance

I am really nervous about starting the metformin for insulin resistance.I am concerned about my blood sugar dropping, and passing out or something worse.

What are the chances of this occurring? My family dr. was very reassuring. I am on a low dose of 500 mg. once daily.

Also, to the girls who have taken metformin, what time of day did you take it? Was there anything you did that helped with the nausea that I have heard that it causes?

Thanks!

Steph

second day of femara...no side effects at all?

I had definate side effects on Clomid...especially the extreme bloating, headaches, and fatigue. I am on my second day of femara and nothing. Actually, I feel like I am losing water retention (always running to the bathroom) and i have a little dry mouth too. Is this normal? I LOVE not having side effects but this worries me that it is not working or something.

Femara: time of day to take and which CD Cycle Day?

I asked this in the discussion forum but did not get any answers but I think it really is a question for the doctors:

I have several questions...I am starting Femara this month.

1.I am confused because my doctor said on the prescription for me to take it on CD 3-7 but I lost the prescription and they called it in for me and it said CD 5-9 on the bottle. I called and the nurse said you can start taking it anytime between CD 3-5. I usually ovulate really late normally (I do ovulate on my own about half of the time) on days CD 23-27. When I was on clomid I the earliest I would get to was CD 18. When I took clomid starting day three it would just stop my period which I did not think was healthy. It seems it may be better to wait until day 5 so you can get all the "period" out of there. When should I start taking femara then?

2. What time of day is best to take it to minimize the side effects? Clomid made me VERY tired and bad headaches on the days I took it.

Sexual side effects from Menopur, Bravelle or others?

Last night dh and I tried to have sex but I was so dry and not producing any lubrication, which of course makes it difficult. Is this a side effect from Menopur, Bravelle, Lupron or any other ivf med that I could be taking? It was so frustrating!

Still feeling side effects after all Clomid is taken...

I have been so tired and dizzy feeling since I started taking Clomid. I took my last pill on cd7 and am now on cd10. Do the side effects typically continue on even after you're done taking the pills?

effects of medications and sperm production

My husband is currently taking a Medrol dose pack and Zithromax. In the last few weeks he has also taken Erythromycin and Levaquin for a sinus infection. He ran a low grade fever a couple of days. My question is do these medications, low grade fever have an immediate effect on sperm count/quality or will any effects not show up for the two and a half months it takes for sperm to mature?
