Question for DR about 100 mg clomid...

My Dr has upped my dosage to 100 mg of clomid, however when I had him call it in to the pharmacy he was not in, so a different Dr called in the Rx for me...

Well this Dr wants me to take it cd 5-9, where as my other Dr always had me take clomid cd 3-7. Why the change, and should I listen to the 'other' Dr or take it as my normal Dr prescribed?

Also this Dr wants me to take 2 doses of 50 mg each day. I assumed 100 mg would be in one pill? What is the difference of taking a double dosage each day of 50 mg?

Dr Browns bottles....

Ok I was given a ton of Dr. Browns bottles from a friend that were used. In turn I took them back to babies r us to switch them out for BPA free ones.

I just washed like 6 of the 4oz and 4 of the 8oz, everytime I wash them, do I totally have to take them apart? Like nipples from top, and then take apart the whole inside thing as well? I dont mind as we have a dishwasher and 3 of the baby dishwasher things to go in there, but it took forever, and drying time...OMG...haha! Just curious!

I will be Breastfeeding for 6months if Noah will let me. The bottles are basically for hubby and who ever else feeds him from what I pump, or if sometimes he takes formula when on the go or at night. What Noah wants Noah gets.

Also I got the level 1 nipples, well its the ones that come with the bottles, I hear thats best for breastfeeding, if I were to go up any higher it will come out faster and he wont like the boob anymore.

Is that right?

Thanks ladies!!

Ovulation...Dr or ladies

Well today is cd2 for me and I started af 1 week early. I also didn't ovulate this month, but I really think that it's because the doc had me on birthcontrol 1 1/2 months ago to regulate me and I forgot a pill so it messed me up a little. The doctor want me to take clomid again, do a trigger shot, and do an iui. Do you think I should ovulate with all of this since I didn't ovulate last month and do you think this will make my luteal phase longer for implantation? Do I have a chance and pregnancy or should I wait a few months to try and regulate myself? My doc said I will be fine because the hcg trigger will make me ovulate.

Dr and Ladies

I'm on my 4th round of clomid and after the first 3 rounds, I took a ttc break. Last month I got on birth control to try to regulate my period but I ended up getting my period 2 weeks early and started taking the clomid when it came. Well today is cd21 and I got my period 1 and a half weeks early. What is going on and can I still get pregnant like this. I know I ovulated some time after cd12 because I had a ultrasound so what could be going on? My doc want me to do an iui on my next cycle which would be now, so if I do clomid, and a trigger shot with iui do you think that will help?

I just recently started birth control pills for 6 months to help get rid of the cysts from pcos...last night and for a few nights I have been having night sweats, nausea and tender breasts but all at night...could this be my hormones changing to what they are suppose to be? Or should I call my RE and have another appt?

Ovulation...Dr or ladies

I'm on my 4th round of clomid and on the first 3 rounds, I got a +opk no later than cd16. Well I am now cd20 and still haven't recieved a +opk. My boobs are really sore though, and have been since cd16. Is it possible to not ovualte and have progesterone symptoms, like sore bbs? Or is there a chance I did ovulate and missed the lh surge? My doc also put me on birthcontrol last month to regulate my cycle, could that effect this month on clomid by not making me ovualate?

Ovulation...Dr or ladies

This is my 4th round of clomid and after the first 3 rounds, I took a ttc break for a couple of months. When I decided to try again last month, the doc put me on birth control to regulate my system again. Then the next month, which is this month, he put me back on 100mg clomid. The first three cyceles I was on clomid, I ovulated cd15 or cd16. Today is cd16, and I still haven't recieved a +opk. I'm starting to get worried because I usually ovulate by now, but do you think that those three weeks on b/c last month could be making me not ovulate? The Doc said that the clomid would make me ovulate, so what is going.

DRs please help me w/ clomid question

i have a question for u. can u take clomid after only 2 days of very LIGHT spotting? it was just pink on the t.p. then it was brown. little tiny bit on my underwear the first day. didnt use tampons or anything... if that wasn't my AF then im CD35 right now. if it tech. was, then id be CD3, if I am CD 3 i need to start clomid.

im so confused, i called my doctor he said to wait for what feels like the true onset of my period and then take clomid cd3 after that...

but i usually always get my periods cd30-36 and my boobs have been sore for about 10 days now... im so confused.

deep inside me i feel like that was my AF and just being on clomid last cycle made it very thin. but my dr said that just spotting doesnt count. why does it have to be so difficult.

Dr. Q... Luteal Phase Defects?

Dr. Q... I hope that you can help me understand a little more about luteal phase defects...

If you have a luteal phase defect, I know they usually give you progesterone, but if you took Clomid, is progesterone cream necessary?

How is a LP Defect diagnosed?

Is it bad to use progesterone cream if you haven't actually been diagnosed with a LP Defect?

Which OTC progesterone cream do you personally recommend?

I really wished that I lived closer to LA so you could be my doctor! :0)

can ANYONE Dr or not, answer this??

Attention any Dr. or anyone with experience with follicles/ ovulation...

Can you answer a question for me, to the best of your ability. I haven't had this question answered yet and I'm very curious.

I was put on clomid for the first time this month. CD3-7 @ 50 mg by my OBGYN in order to make me ovulate since I've been ttc for 3 years.

I've had BW u/s and other tests done, everything come back OK the reason I can't conceive is thought to be non ovulation due to my irregular cycles (mostly long, around 30-34 days sometimes short though around 16 days, overall very irregular)

I went in for my CD12 u/s and I had follicles in each ovary however my Dr said they were small for CD12 (all ranging under 1 cm) He said given the sizes of my follicles I most likely will not ovulate this cycle.

My question is: Is it possible that I will still Ovulate this cycle given the fact that clomid makes some womens cycles longer and makes them ovulate later than ususal? Normally my cycles average at 31 days without clomid. Is it possible that I am just a late ovulater and my follicles were so small on cd 12 b/c I may not ovulate until around cd 20? I guess what Im asking is, even though my follicles were less than 1 cm on cd 12 is it possible they could still keep maturing and I could just ovulate later due to that?

Im sure my Dr expected me to ovulate around cd 14 or 15, and if thats the case then of course my follicles werent big enough yet.

I need to know if you know any information on how fast follicles can grow or mature and if you think in 7-9 days then can grow another cm to reach 2 cm and allow me ovulate?

I appreciate ANY comment or information reguarding this, its a big concern of mine as I really hope this month on clomid was not a waste.

Thank you.

Dr. Q..... Questions!

Dr. Q, I hear you are the best DR in the world, so I thought maybe you could help me. I was wondering if I should tell my Dr. to perform certain tests or not. Every time I tell him I am concerned about something, he tells me it's normal because of PCOS. For instance... I spotted for 3 months. Sometimes it was light, sometimes heavy. (It has finally stopped, and now no AF last month! AAAAHHHHHH!! And I'm on BCPs! It stopped week 3, and now I'm in week 1 of new pack of pills.)

I have also had breast leakage. Usually clear, white or grayish. (Not yellow or green) He said it's normal and will go away, but people on here have said it could be what is hindering me from getting pg. Should I ask/tell him to run certain tests, or just find a Dr. willing to help me? He is supposedly the #1 PCOS doctor in MI! I have not contacted an RE yet, because the closest ones are in Grand Rapids, and I live in the north. It's at least 3 hours away. I am not sure what to do next. Please let me know what you think.

? about acupuncture

Hi Dr. Horn,

I recently saw your response to a FEB/2008 post about acupuncture and IVF. You responded to a question about a faulty study done by Latasha Craig that used forbidden points after ET. I am currently seeing an acupuncturist and asked about the forbidden points in the TWW period. She said there was one area that she doesn't use in the TWW time and that the others are fine. I had seen an article about the forbidden points in a link somewhere from this site but am having trouble finding it. It stated all the forbidden points in technical terms that an acupuncturist would understand. Does this article sound familiar to you and if so, would you be able to let me know the link?

If the article doesn't sound familiar, would you be able to let me know which points are OK before transfer and which are the forbidden points so that I can show them to my acupuncturist. I am getting ready to embark on my first IVF journey (the only one covered by my insurance, therefore this may be the only IVF cycle I can afford) and I absolutely want to make the most of it and have the highest probability of success, also considering the fact that I will turn 40 in a few weeks, so age is also not on my side.

Please, please help!!

Thank you so much Dr. Horn.

Karen

Crappy Eggs......

So I tlaked with the RE this past weekend and all my tests came out fine, including the chromosomal testing - YEAH! Right? Well, kinda. That is good but means nothing to “fix” to help get us preggo.

I asked him to talk to the embryologist to see what was up and if there was something wrong with the eggs b4 the fertilization or just after. Turns out that I have crappy eggs. He hated to say it since I am 33 and they don’t see that “too often” is what he said. We have gotten preggo on our own but lost it early and then lost another 2 (we think) thry IVF.

My questions are:

1. Can you do anything to help “fix” the crummy eggs? I already take a pre-natal vitamin, a Vit E pill, Omega 3 pill, calcium/magnesium/zinc vitamin.

2. Can this have messed up my eggs - I don’t eat very well now or ever, have been anorexic as well as bulimic.

3. Do you know what it costs to get some donor eggs? Do you buy them by the number and then freeze them if you don’t use them all?

Thx a bunch!
