Has anybody else gone through CVS testing before?

Ok so I'm going be having CVS(Chorionic villus sampling), a prenatal test that detects chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome, as well as a host of other genetic disorders. The doctor takes cells from tiny fingerlike projections on the placenta called the chorionic villi and sends them to a lab for genetic analysis.

So I want to know has anyone had that testing before and what was your experience?!

Why is my bbt staying down?

I had a spike on wed, 96.57 to 97.20. But two days later my temp dropped way down to 95.94, and are only slowing starting to go back up, but are still nowhere near that temp that I assumed marks ovulation.

Why are my temps staying down?

DR when's the earliest I can do CVS?

I wanna know when I can have chorionic villus sampling (CVS), a prenatal test used to detect genetic defects such as Tay-Sachs, sickle cell anemia, most types of cystic fibrosis and Down syndrome...etc. I've heard 12weeks, but can it be done before 12weeks? And also is it true you can also find out the baby's gender from this test as well?

IUI Assistance

Dr Q is there any benefit to lying down for a few hours after an IUI? I have heard it 'bathes' the right idea with the sperm. Also, I have read that taking 75mg of asprin after an IUI increases blood flow and can assist with pregnancy. What are your thoughts?

Question on Pregnancy Testing

Ok im soo confused on what they are asking me to do if its the NT scan for down syndrome or if its just blood work and that shows for 3 different disorders. Im waiting on my OB nurse to call me back and clear all this up, cause I thought they would be talking about doing the NT ultrasound to see whatever, but in a brocure I have its talking about blood work and needs to be done between 15-21weeks, and that can detect neural tube defect, Down syndrome, or Trisomy 18. This blood test is called AFP and I have nothing on NT or whatever its called thats the ultrasound.

Thanks ladies, oh and im 11w4d, and so I know if they want to do that ultrasound there is a time frame as well. Thanks for the help again!

Calcium in the Heart?

When I got preggo with my second one they had found calcium in the heart, which is a sign of down syndrome. He did not have down syndrome but it there a chance that if preggo again that my baby could have that?

Baby's Head down & pelvic pressure

If the baby's head is down per the Drs external exam at 34 W and lots of pelvic pressure and difficulty walking due to the weight in the lower abdomen, does it increase the chances of preterm birth? Will resting help? They have not done the culture test to check if theres gonna be labor soon.

Dr says uterus and baby measure as they should for 34 W 3 days.

Why does my Dr not offer an Ultrasound or a NST?? Will the uterus measurement be accurate to predict fetal weight/height?

Temps all over the place??

Hi!

My temps generally run a bit on the low side, my highs are usually 97.8-98.0. But since ovulation this month one day I am 97.7, the next 97.3, then back up and down?? I am confused? Is there something going on with my hormones or do I need a new bbt thermometer? I am having progesterone symtoms, very very sore breasts and so very tired, and I get + opk's...just confused by the roller coaster!

Thank you!

Stephanie

Down Syndrome

About two months ago I lost a baby to down syndrome at 20 weeks of pregnancy. I already have a perfectly healthy daughter 2.5 years old. Me and dh were both tested and we are not carriors. I know that my chances of having another ds baby are higher by about 1% now, but how often does this really happen to have another pregnancy affected by this, considering the first one was a fluke. And also, should I immediatly agree to have an amnio my next pregnancy? Is this really necessary? I'm 32 years old, dh is 33.
