23 day cycles - when to test for Pregnancy

One more question. My last 2 cycles were only 23 days each. When would an HCG blood test or a urine HPT show up a positive result if I am pregnant?

Looking for cycle buddies...going with IUI this month (Sep 2009)

Well, we have decided to go to IUI this month to help our chances and I'm looking for cycle buddies. We are on CD 2 (only!!).

My background - I have a year old son who took three years to conceive so we started trying again for baby number 2 three months ago and no success. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have been using clomid (round 1, no success and left a cyst on my ovary), femara (round 2, no success but no cyst either!) so now we are on Femara, Metformin and trying IUI for round 3. I also have a HSG this coming monday that I am super scared for!

I have been trying to meet some cycle buddies for support and to give support to. I know how hard this process is with the ups and downs with our first go around.

Thanks in advance and here is hoping for BFP's all around!!!!

~Baby Dust~

What are possible reasons for no periods??

I do not have regular periods which is making it difficult to conceive, we have been trying for over a year now. I went to the OBGYN and they tested everything and said everything is fine. Gave me progesterone for 10 days to start up periods...the next month, the same thing happened! My gut area/uterus is soo sore and I have PMS symptoms (sore breasts, irritability) and painful sex. Period is 20 days late as of today.

Can your cycle be changed?

I had surgery back in June of 2009 to have a cone biopsy done to remove displasya of the cervix. My OB told me to obstain from intercourse for 6 weeks. Before surgery and right after timing was right. What I mean is my husband was home at that time and I could have conceived. He works offshore and is gone and will be gone on my calculated day of ovulation. Is there a way to change your cycle or am Im going to have to wait severaly months for it to come back around?

September/October 2009 IVF - anyone want to join me???

Hi Ladies!!!

I just started my BCP today for my 1st ever IVF! I have done 7 months of clomid, one month of Follistim, and 4 IUI's. I got a BFP on my very last Follistim/IUI cycle in July, but sadly it ended up being ectopic. I had surgery to remove my right tube a week ago, and my HCG level today was less than 1, so I got to start on my IVF protocol today! YAY! I'm so excited, but I'm terrified at the same time!

According to my IVF calendar, I will be on birth control until September 18th, will start on stims (Follistim) on September 21st, will have my my retreival on approximately October 1st, and my transfer on approximately October 4th!

I would love to have some more ladies join me in this IVF journey!! Newbies and veteran IVF'ers are absolutely welcome!! The more the merrier!!!

Loads of babydust and stickyglue ladies!!!

Still no period

It's been 18 days since my 2nd cycle cancelation. I haven't started my period yet. I did acupuncture 4 days ago and it didn't just start it which it usually does. I have cramping, lower back pain, so it's a good sign that something is moving along. I want it to start so I am not even more delayed for our 3rd cycle in Sept.

How to Calculate Due Date When You've Done IVF?

Dr. Q and Ladies,

I am avidly planning for my bfp! I was wondering, when you do IVF, is the due date still calculated by the date of your last menstrual cycle or is it calculated by the tranfer date?

I am just wondering.

We had a loss on March 6th and I have prayed since that day God would bless us with our new baby by that time next year!

Love to All, and Loads of babydust!

Stephanie

Progestrone Cream Question

This is a question for the doctors or anyone who may have more information on this. When is the proper time to start on progestrone cream? It is during ovulation or before ovulation? My doctor had mentioned it is good during early pregnancy if there is a possibility of low progestrone that may lead to m/c. Does it affect your cycle in anyway? I am pretty regular 32 day cycles except for this month which seems to be a few days early actually.

First cycle of IUI

Okay, so this is what I'm supposed to do:

-Take provera to bring on my period

-Get my period

-Day three go for my baseline ultrasound and blood work

-Days 5-9 take clomid

-Day 10 go for another ultrasound and bloodwork. If all is well then take my HSG injection at night

-Day 12 get the IUI done

Here is my issue.....I got my period yesterday and again today....so I called the MD office to let them know I'm coming in tomorrow morning for my ultrasound....as soon as I called them I haven't gotten my period anymore today!!!!! What does this mean? Can I still start the IUI? Go for my ultrasound tomorrow morning?

back pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting during my menstral cycle

I would say for the last12 months I would be nausea and vomiting and sometimes diarrhea, but the last 3 month I have had bad back pain along with the rest. I have had a ultra sound done on my gallbladder and on my overls and nothing. I am 24 years old is this normal? I am started to really worry.

Hi i have regular 28 day cycles. Well this month my period is about a week late. I usually get sign that my period is coming a week before it shows. This month i didnt get any of these signs. But the day my period should of shows and still to know of and on at different times a day i will get some small cramping and i get that feeling like my period is about to come and it never does. I just took a test and it was negative. I was reading on line about what could cause you to miss a perid but i havnt changed anything this month about what iv done. I also have not been stressing about anything. Since tomorrow is Sunday i wont be able to get to the doctors till monday. But i wanted to ask you What you think it could be? Oh and im not really having any signs that im pregnant either. cept the whole missed period thing. Usually my breast hurt a whole week in advance to my period cming and this month they dont hurt at all.
