Platelet count

I have a platelet count of 450 million or so and the normal lab reference range is 120-420. Should I be worried. I will doing my IVF in month. This platelet count is stable. It is same the previous year and this year. Am I a candidate for baby aspirin if I become pregnant?

IUI Post Wash Sperm Count of 1.8mil

Do I still have a possibility of conceiving this cycle? I had intercourse 2x on cd11, u/s on cd12 showed 4 follicles at 18mm so I got a Ovidrel trigger at that appt. (afternoon), IUI next morning cd13 and also intercourse late that night, Ovulation confirmed by on cd14 by temp. shift the next day. Please tell me if you have ever heard of someone conceiving with circumstances like this or did I waste my $$ on the IUI. Also not sure why my husband's count was so low because for his S/A and other IUI's his count was over 20mil. Thanks

Husband on antidepressants

My husband and I have had 2 children. It has never taken us longer then the first month to concieve. He is now on celexa for some rage issues. We decided to start trying to concieve this last month without sucess. I have done some reseach about antidepressant affecting sperm count. I am having a hard time figuring out if he will need to stop his medication while we are trying to concieve or can you still get pregnant while he is on antidepressants? *We wouldn't have him stop his medication without talking to his doctor first.

Thank you

Rasing Sperm Count

Hi everyone.. I haven't posted in a couple months... since my first IUI in June. we just had our second one this past saturday and I had to share!

My husband has a low count from previous cancer treatments. His intital test he had a count of just under 2 mil he began taking an organic supplement called Tribulus. At our first IUI his count had gone to 2.5 mil. Obviously not high enough but we thought we would give it a go. Then we took 2 months off and he kept taking his Tribulus. This weekend his count had risen to 8.3 mil!!!! I can't guarantee that the pills did it but there really were no other changes~

I just wanted to throw it out there. In case anyone is in the same boat. We were planning on making this our last IUI before we moved to IVF but since his couint went up so high we decided if it doesn't work.. were are going to go for another round!

Clomid for Men

Dr. Q,

I am confused! Everything I have read says that Clomid isn't really all that effective for men. My DH had a S/A done once and I guess it was so bad he was referred to a urologist who by the way does specialize in infertility. Well the urologist ordered the results to be faxed but in the meantime prescribed Clomid. Why would he have done this? The counts were within normal but morph is real bad and liquification is not within norms. Should I let my husband take the Clomid just to "see what happenes"?

Sperm Count for Hubby

I might be preggo right now, but I have a question anyways.Since we already have a 2 1/2 yr old and we conceived him on accident, and we know I have PCOS, is there any reason to worry about my DHs sperm count?

I'm 21, he's 22, and his dad and brothers never had an issue.

Would my husband be sterile or have a low sperm count?

When my husband was a teenager he got bitten by a dog on his testicles and had to have 100 something stitches. Crazy I know. The local Dr. said he needed a specialist, but at the time his parents couldn't afford it so they told him to do it. In your opinion would he have low sperm count or be sterile. I wouldn't say we've been trying, but we've just been hoping things would happen and after 27 months. We are going to start "trying" and wondered does he need to go to the Dr. and if he has low sperm count what would you recommend. Just needing an opinion first. Thanks Alot!!

Question about HCG for Dr

Dr. I got a faint positive HPT at 9-10dpo. I went in for my beta #'s that day and they came back at 4 :( (that was Wednesday). I went back in on Saturday to get my #'s and they were 29. Is my pregnancy doomed? I just had a m/c in July. I will be talking to my Dr. tomorrow, but have you ever seen a pregnancy survive and be healthy with those low numbers??

KelleyD, are you around?

I was just reading a threat about your IUI journey. I'm dealing with the same male factor issues, as my husband also has a low count. I had my second IUI on Aug. 20 and we have 2.3M sperm post-wash. I'm holding out some hope that it may have worked, since my RE says he's seen pregnancies with far fewer. But I also know that the odds are against us.

Where are you now -- IVF/ICSI, or are you trying another IUI?

My husband's motility actually improved from 25% to 60% this time around (and so did the count: last time we only had 300,000 post-wash). So, our RE thinks it's worth trying one more IUI if this one doesn't work.

I'd love to hear from you, hopefully you'll see this post! :)
