conception question

Hi, I had sex on the 14th and my period started on the 25th. I just found out that I am pregnant. Is it possible to have been pregnant while menstruating?

Conception Date?

I had my ultrasound on Nov.12th, and found out I was about 7 weeks pregnant.Does that mean that I concieved on or around 5 weeks ago?

I had sex on Sep.27th, and then again on Oct.2,3,4etc. I really hope I didn't concieve on the 27th, because that would mean the baby is my ex. Not a good thing. Thank you

Egg Life

I have read so many post, that now I am simply confused. Does the egg live 24 or 12 hours? Or is there a variable like with sperm? This is soo confusing to me. Thank you in advance

Endometriosis and TTC

Hi

I am 30 years old female. I have been trying to conceive with my husband for 3 years. I had a submucous fibroid which was removed by laparoscopic myomectomy about 6 months ago. 3 months ago, I had a chemical pregnancy. I went to do u/s to follow up ovulation, but my doctor wrote in his report this:

"There is a 50 mm left adenexal unilocular cystic mass, distended with homogeneous low ecogenicity turbid fluid, almost keeping with being endometriotic"

I was devastated after reading this report, for I was just begining to hoping I will be able to conceive after the myomectomy. My question is:

1. Is this report sufficient to diagnose me as having endometriosis? Or is there a chance that it could be functional hemorrhagic ovarian cyst?

2. If I have endometriosis, is there any chance I can get pregant?

Well let start off by saying I am 25 yrs old and so is dh. We have been ttc for 21 months now. I have been checked once in July to see if I ovulated and my dr did an u/s to make sure I did not have anything on my ovaries. Everything came back fine! Dh, as of right now, will not get tested. I am ok with it. I would like to know how to talk him into it! ;o) Wwe are satisfied were we are in life overall, but would love to one day have a gift from God together!

*Thanks for reading my journey so far...

waiting after lupron for conception

So following up with my last question, I'm going to wait until the 3rd cycle after lupron to take clomid. With those cycles, the endometriosis won't grow back to the point of keeping me from getting pregnant again will they? With the body naturally producing estrogen and all? Do you think 100mg clomid + metformin will do the trick for me? Thanks!! Cheers!!

Possible conception...

So my husband and I had unprotected sex (we're trying) on friday the 26th. My period was due then, but hasn't shown up yet. Since then I've been feeling some activity down there, like gassy, bloated, mild cramping, etc.

I've proven in the past to be very fertile, noted by my last obgyn/baby doctor. There is also no way I could have been pregnant before this time, as my husband and I didn't have sex due to insurance timelines.

I guess I'm just wondering if you think these symptoms are in my mind.. if anyone has gotten pregnant at this time.. and maybe when the best time to take a test would be...

Thanks.

TTC

Hi I am Dee. This will be month #2 TTC using at home artificial insemination. We have the Clearblue Easy Fertility MOnitor and also use OPK's in addition. Last month, we inseminated on both of my peak days...the monitor gave me the two peak readings. But we did not get pregnant. Is there a better time to inseminate? Thank you.

Conception Success Rate With Clomid

Conception Success Rate With Clomid

Clomid is one of the fertility medications with the highest success rates.

In addition, Clomid is one of the most inexpensive of fertility treatments available.

However, Clomid does not work for every patient.

Because women’s bodies are so different from one another, their reactions to Clomid can also be very different.

Some women do experience a variety of side effects with Clomid, while other women may not experience any.

To understand why the success rate with Clomid is so high in terms of promoting conception, it is important to understand what Clomid is and how it works.

Clomid reacts with a variety of tissues in the body that have estrogen receptors, including the vagina, the cervix, the entometrium, the pituitary gland, the ovaries, and the hypothalamus.

Clomid influences the way that the hormones that are related to fertility and ovulation, including GnRH, FSH, LH, and estradiol work in the body and relate to one another.

It has been said that Clomid “fools” the body into believing that estrogen is low, which then causes more GnRH to be released, which spurs the production of more FSH and LH.

More FSH and more LH, then, lead to the release of one or more mature eggs.

This is what helps Clomid to cause ovulation, and why Clomid has such high rates of success in terms of conception.

Somewhere between 40 and 80 percent of women who take Clomid will have success in creating ovulation.

This, of course, does not guarantee they will have a successful conception, however.

Of those patients who successfully ovulate as a result of taking Clomid, somewhere around half of those will have a successful conception within six months.

There are some other fertility medications that may have higher success rates in terms of conception, but those other medications also tend to have much higher costs than Clomid, and they tend to pose much higher risks in terms of side effects.

In addition, their success rates are truly not that much higher than success rates with Clomid.

For these reasons, Clomid is often prescribed instead of, or at least before, other fertility medications or procedures.

Ovulation Question

How long after Ovulation is it possible to conceive? Is the day after too late? How long does an unfertilized egg remain viable?
