Fertility Medication

My husband and I have been trying to conceive now for almost 5 years. I guess we havent been real on board with it. we were just not stoping it from happening. Since in the last 5 years I have not got pregnant. is it possible that I am just always missing my days or do I need to take clomid or something else. is this common is what I am really asking?

So i was wondering for those of us w/ longer cycles, will it effect our chances of conceiving and does that really mean our egg quality isin't good if we O late????

ty for taking the time answering my questions Dr Q. You're the BEST!!!!!

My boyfriend has been smoking pot for about 6 years now, is there a chance we could never have a baby because of it?

I wanted to know if it was too late to try for a baby since he has been smoking pot for so long and we have sex a lot and he cums in me every single time. Would that also have something to do with it? Were basically trying to conceive we just don't know what it is that is stopping us. Or what to do to get him to quit smoking. Thanks.

3 rounds of clomid.. Ovulation but no concieving.. what should we do next?

Hi Dr..

Just wondering if i could please ask a few questions. have been taking clomid ( 100mg days 5-9 ) and we have been ovulating.. later then usuall but its working. I ahve been having bloods and scans to moniter this. I feel as if we are going around in circles as we arent concieving and the side effects are pretty shocking. We were offered IUI.. but i dont know if its the right step to take. I am 25 with a history of polycysitc ovaries.. and my husbands tests were 100% normal.

is there anyway to take clomid or something simular in conjunction with other medication? I dont really want to be artifically inseminated.

Thank you

Em

The Beginning of my Journey

Last year (08) my Husband (Fiance) at the time where trying to concieve. That started in March 08. In late march 08 I went to the doctor for strep throat and it ended up that a cyst on each ovary was making me very sick. So I was admitted to a German hospital out in town and they took out both the cysts. My body didnt heal very well and so that was that for about three months. In july 08 I went to work and was very sick and had a fever. I went to the doctor again and they told me that my blood count was bad and I needed to go back to the hospital, again, the same day I was back in surgery for my cysts. that time they took out the fluid and checked my stomach for any abnormal stuff. since then i havent had much problems other than just being uncomfortable in my lower stomach pretty much all the time. I also gained about 15 pounds after the second surgery. Well not my husband and I are trying to conceive again and no luck so far. I am reading, charting, posting, and discussing all I can. I am eating better, not drinking, hubby is not smoking as much, and we are taking a bunch of steps to get baby ready. The only rush for the pregnancy is because we are both military and our next duty station he will have to be on a ship. So we are trying really hard to get pregnant before November.

Well that brings me to here.. I am looking into Clomid and another things that can help out the conceiving.

40 years old and first IVF - what to expect?

Anyone care to share their stories, journeys, expectations, etc. with me?

I plan to start, hopefully, in March sometime...barring any unforeseen issues.

I want to get all the check ups needed before I go into this expensive endeavor. Feeling a bit scared, apprehensive and just want the best outcome.

I know what my percentages are, approximately, to conceive, and knowing that more than two of these will completely break our bank, we're just hoping that one will work.

Share my journey, share your stories...I could use all the support and morale as well as other women on the boards. If you're in my age bracket, all the better!

My FSH is 11, I'm seeing an acupuncturist with hopes that it will help stimulate my body into working mode again, I quit caffeine and have backed off drinking. Next, I'll be working out and getting my body firm and toned. I seem to have about a 30 percent chance for one IVF cycle to work, so while numbers give me something to focus on, it also causes some concern as that seems pretty low.

Thanks for reading!

Spotting/Bleeding every cycle after ovulation?

After carefully monitoring my cycle for the last five months I have noticed that I always spot/bleed periodically after ovulation. It can be 2 days, 3 days, 6 days, 8 days past ovulation. Very random. I am starting to wonder if this is preventing me from conceiving. Any info/experience ladies??
