Hi, I just had my day 21 progesterone test done and the dr said I don't ovulate. I have a follow up appointment with her next month to talk about clomid. What questions should I be asking and should I be getting more tests done to check for a blockage or anything?

Me and my partner have been trying for 23+months now we had all the tests and we know its was mianly due to me not ovulating that we were unable to get pregnant, We were offered 6months of clomid... I am currently on 50mg's of clomid been on it for 3 months now and i have ovulate but not got pregnant they have given me 30 tablets to last me the next three months ??? what would be benefits of going up to 100mg be? and is it work trying? the plan was 100mgs for cycles 4-5 and then cycle 6 would be 150mgs? is this worth trying or could it cause more problems than solve?

after the 6months if this doesn't work what are our options other than IUI and IVF?

Hi everyone,

I was on depo provera for +- 5 years and in that duration I did not have my monthly menses. I stopped altogether in April 2007 and ever since then had irregular periods. My current gynae did a progesterone and insulin (fasting) test which concluded my insulin level was borderline 12 and my progesterone tests showed I did not ovulate.

He started me on 500mg 1 x day glucophage and 50mg clomid on days 5 – 10. I had my day21 progesterone test on 31 October and my gynae confirmed I did ovulate. He said my progesterone level showed 120. I started my menses on Tuesday so my first attempt was not successful :(. My husbands sperm count etc was done in Jan this year and everything came back normal. What I would like to know is the following:

1. What does the progesterone level of 120 indicate? Is this a low or high reading?

2. If I ovulated first time on clomid is this a good thing and does it increase my chances of conceiving sooner?

3. What are my chances of miscarriage?

My Dr has advised that he will monitor me for 6 months, i.e. check if I continue to ovulate on clomid and if after that time I have still not fallen pregnant he will investigate further. My Dr also checked for pcos i.e. did an internal ultrasound, I have no excessive facial hair, no acne, nor excessive fat in the relevant areas. He told me to count out pcos. I am 26 years in age and my husband Is 27. Neither drink or smoke however we are both in stressful jobs.

I am starting my next round of clomid 50mg tomorrow :) Lots of baby dust to everyone

Clomid & Ovidrel Injections

Hi there

I got a BFP this month on 17dpo following this dosage:

150mg clomid days 3-5

10000 ovidrel trigger

5000 ovidrel booster days 3,5 and 7

On this treatment for a few months (had one chemical pregnancy on it before) and day 21 progesterone level this month was 60ng/dl. The other months it varied between 34 and 49.

On the day of my BFP I got blood tests done and the results of the progesterone were 1.9. I later started to bleed. Is it normal for progesterone to drop this quickly or should I be testing earlier so that I can get progesterone support?

i had a tubal ligation reversal 20th april 09 im due for my hsg on the 16th november im a little worried about both i get migrains daily without the clomid will my migrains become un bearable im 33 secondary infertility i have no cysts on my overies my tubes were seen to be open 20th april redoing hsg on 16th out of curosity please give me your opinion i do ovulate without the clomid but the dr said 1 month i produced to many follicals and the next month only 2 in each overy

Can Clomid increase progesterone?

Hi,

Maybe you can help me with this. Monday I had a +opk (day 17) so I assumed I would ovulate the following day. Well Friday evening through Monday I have had tons and tons of cm which is very abnormal for me. To the point I would need a panty liner. I had a day 21 progesterone test on Friday as well and my number was in the low 50's. So I'm confused - does clomid just raise progesterone and is not a clear indicator of ovulation? Or does that test truly mean I ovulated and I am possibly covered if I did it Monday/Tuesday (when I got a +opk). All the cm makes me think I had a false positive opk and it really didn't happen until the weekend.....If that's the case I'm worried I missed it :( I'm so confused! btw my cycles are typically 32-34 days give or take. Thank you!

I am wondering what days are the most common for ladies to O while on Clomid. I know so many here O pretty late. So i have put up thisPOLL to help me de-stress as I wait to O and hopefully have the data around for the next lady.

Please include the clomid round #, dosage, on what days u took clomid, and the O day.

here is an example : Round 1, Clomid 50 mg, 3~7 days, O on CD 18

Looking for other first timers trying clomid and having IUI

My DH and I have been TTC for over a year now. In April I got my first BFP ever and was so excited. Unfortunetly we lost our dear child at 7 weeks and I had a missed miscarriage so at 8 weeks I had to take medication to induce the miscarraige. Since then we have been TTC and have not had any luck.

I have been doing acupunture and herbs for a year and my DH had a SA and doc says no male fertility issue but he only has 2% morphology, I'm guessing since his count and motility is high is why doc is saying no male fertility issues. Doc has suggested doing a clomid challenge to check on my ovary reserve and he said we might as well do an IUI since I will be taking the clomid.

I am very nervouse taking the clomid because I seem to be so emotionally unbalanced with all the TWWs and BFNs but each month feeling like I am pregnant. :(

I am looking for others who are going through this so we can support each other through this new experience.

I'm currently taking clomid..I'm on my 2nd day and I started day four after my period of 50 mg...this is my third time trying clomid at that dose and I haven't ovulated...should I increase my dosage?

I have been ttc for 23 cycles with no luck. I am diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility. My dh is fine, good counts and such. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last february but it has been corrected and shouldn't be part of the problem, but I suspect that it still is...

My treatments...6 months of clomid, 2 with IUI

1 month- follistim, orvidrel and IUI- BFN

1 month break due to cysts

and currently I am 1 day past my second injectable cycle with back to back IUIs...

I have had so many months of disappointment that I am not sure how much more I can take. The 2 ww seem to get longer and longer and the disappointment greater each time. Part of me wants to take a break, but then I feel guilty to do so because I am going to be 37 and time is not on my side. So, I keep pushing forward and hope that my BFP is just a couple of weeks away...

What are the natural signs of ovulation while on clomid?

This is my first cycle of clomid and I am extremly cofused and not sure if I ovulated or not. I started clomid on 10/23 amd ended on 10/27. My hubby and I have made love on the 28th, 30th, 31st November 1, 3, 4, 5th and we will on the 7th, 8th and 9th just to make sure. I normally ovulate on my own and I typically feel ovualtion pains but this month I havent felt anything and besides from the hot flashes and headaches I felt great on the clomid. what are the chances that I didnt ovulate on clomid even if I ovulate on my own.

I was unable to make it in on cd21 this month for my blood draw so the nurse told me to come in on cd24, I had a positive opk test on cd14 so I suspect I ovulated on cd15. I have never had ovulation pains before unless I was on clomid so I was shocked when I felt it this month.(not on clomid) Today the nurse told me my levels were only 4.6. Do you think it made difference that it was taken longer then 7

I had got a positive opk on cd14 which makes me assume I ovulated on cd15. I was unable to get in to the drs. on cd21 so the nurse told me to come in on cd24. My levels this month were 4.6. I was wondering if it make adifference that I waited longer the 7dpo to have my progesterone tested because I felt my ovulation thats what made me take the opk test. Anyways I've never felt ovulation pains in the months that i didn't take clomid and this cycle I didn't take it.

I've took 3 rounds of clomid one good thing i'm ovulating now but no success in getting pregant.so my doc has increased the clomid to 100mg days 3-7 Are the chances of it happening with this dosage better?

What is the best Ovulation Test if I am currently on Clomid?

My doctor has me on Clomid (100mg, 2tabs/day from Cycle 5-9). Before I used Clomid, I used the Answer Ovulation Test strip and usually surged between day 12-14. I read on the instructions that Clomid can affect the test results for the Answer strips. I then switched to Clear Blue Ovulation tests and read in their instructions that Clomid shouldn't effect the results but Clomid can delay ovulation. I used both strips simultaneously to compare results. I am now on day 18 of my cycle. According to the Answer strips, I surged. But the Clear Blue test still shows I haven't. Which test is right?

Hi,

I am 26 years old, TTC1, I usually have 35 day cycle till june 2009.

after that my periods got delayed drastically, some times 40, 42 ,50 days like that.

I consulted OB/GYN and she said i am having PCOS and gave prescription for clomid 3-7.

I got period on OCT 25th 2009 and started taking clomid from 27th, no side effects till now.

Now my question is when will I ovulate?

even with normal 35 days cycle i am not sure when will i O'te.

some says 5-9 days after last clomid pill, some says CD 21 as my cycle is 35days.

I AM SO CONFUSED.

when to start checking with OPK.
