A PCOS and soon to be Clomid Story!

So my dh and I were married Nov 07 and we have been ttc since then. In June 08 I was diagnosed with PCOS and was prescribed metformin to help with my insulin levels. Thankfully it as helped with putting my hormones back in order. Unfortunately it did not regulate my cylces but I started taking some natural herbs which did regulate my period. My doctor wants to start me on clomid in December at the start of my next cycle, how long did it take others to get the BFP when starting clomid. I really could use some good news as the past 13 months have been very draining. I hope to hear from others who are going through the same thing, or had success with clomid.

Where to start TTC with PCOS?

My PCOS has not been treated yet. I was diagnosed in July and have irregular/missing periods. My doc wanted to put me on BC pills to regulate and help me ovulate, but I said no because i wanted to TTC soon. Our first real month of TTC was October and AF never came again in NOvemebr. The hpt was a bfn. I want to seek treatment now rather than wait for AF and try again, I may not even be ovulating anyway. Also when I was diagnosed I was told that my hormone levels are ok, but they confirmed the polyscictic ovaries with a os. It is very difficult for me to lose weight. I have been eating very healthy and exercising and saw minimal results. I was wondering if I should ask for metformin first to try and get the PCOS under control, and see if that helps make me regular and then ovulate, or is that a waste of time? Should I go straight for the clomid, or a combination? I've have only been on this site a few weeks and have learned so much from these brave women. One thing I have learned from them is time is valuable. Many of then are in thier early 20's and I am 32. I do not want to try for a year, I want results soon. I know already that PCOS is going to make it difficult so I want to address it immediately. I have a OBGYN appointment on 12/3, and I want to go in there well informed and leave with a plan of action. Can you help? Thanks so much doctor, and I would like to say this is an amazing site and I have learned so much!!

No positive opk or ewcm on Clomid? Please help ladies and Dr! :)

I have been on clomid for 2 mths now 50mg. Last mth I had a ruptured ovarian cyst caused by the Clomid, AF arrived on cd30 which is very good for me as I am usually really irregular. My question is that since I have started clomid I have never got a real positive opk, the line gets dark but not as dark as the control line, also before starting Clomid I used to get EWCM which was my indicator to ovultion, I no longer get EWCM? so I no longer know if I ovulate on the Clomid or not.

Please let me know why this happens when I never had a problem before starting Clomid?

Thanks Ladies xx

Ovulating a Week Early? Why?

I was on clomid for the last 4 months, but we're taking a break this month. Both on and off Clomid, I ovulated around CD 17-19, exactly 9 days after my last pill.

This month, for the first time EVER, it appears that I'm going to ovulate REALLY REALLY early. Based on OPK's getting darker and CM getting thinner, I'd say I'm going to ovulate around CD 13-14.

TMI: I had a couple days a lot of goopy CM at CD8-9 (way more than normal). I understand that high estrogen levels can cause more CM. Today is CD 12 and the EWCM has now shown up. (OPK later today)

Why would my body be ready to O nearly a week early??

Clomid question

Hello

I am writing regarding a question on CLomid. I have just finished my 3rd dose of 100mg Clomid Last night. I woke up at about 4am with a stabbing pain near my belly button(a little lower to the right) and it has not let up. It is very uncomfortable but not unbearable. I am wondering if this is something I should be concerned with. I have taken Clomid once before and I had no problems at all. Thanks for your information!

Mary

I have been so tired and dizzy feeling since I started taking Clomid. I took my last pill on cd7 and am now on cd10. Do the side effects typically continue on even after you're done taking the pills?

*****TTC*an*Angel*****

Hello everyone. I am new to the site and just wanted to introduce myself. My dh and I are happily married and have been ttc our first child for a year and a half now. We are both young and healthy and just can't seem to figure out why this is happening to us. I am sure many of you can relate to those feelings.

I have tried different treatments, including a surgery and nothing seems to work. I am going to be starting my fourth round of clomid after Thanksgiving and I almost feel like, What is the point?

I guess I need to keep in mind that God has a plan for us all and when it comes time, he will bless me with my own angel :). Good luck to all of you and Babydust.

PS- If any of you are curretnly 8dpo or near let me know. I would really enjoy some cycle buddies.

Did I "O" on cycle day 7??

Please look at the Pics and tell me

Today is Cycle Day 8 for me...

I have been having Light OPKs since Day 2 and I was waiting for the super Dark one to appear. Apparently the brand (CVS Brand) I bought must be equivalent to the Online Cheapies. Because when I did the OPK this morning the line was lighter not darker than Day 7 so I am guessing my O happened yesterday...

Here are the OPK pics from cycle Day 6-8:

Good thing we BD'd on :

Cycle Day 5 8AM

Cycle Day 6 1030pm (Used EW)

Cycle Day 8 740am (Used EW)

So I am hoping if I did O between Day 6-8 we are covered since we went Au Natural this cycle except for the Metformin, B6, B12, Baby ASA, Prenatal Vits, Tao of Wellness, fertilaid Tea & the Egg whites.

I guess I should add that this is my first cycle without meds since July. I had a canceled cycles of Injectables then 3 cycles of Clomid/IUI that all failed so we are taking a break this cycle and see the RE to discuss options the day we get back from Hawaii (Dec 8th).

I dont know if I should go out and spend $20 on another OPK and keep testing or not what do you think??

progesterone blood test result

Hello

My Day 21 progesterone blood test result is 106.8. And the nurse says that's an excellent result. But I don't really understand what it the number means? It was my first cycle of Clomid as well. Currently waiting if my period starts.

No Response while on Clomid or Femara

I have been ttc for about a year and a half. I have PCOS and when I went to see my RE he put me on Femara 2.5mg CD 3-7. I was non responsive on the Femara so he switched me to Clomid 50mg CD 3-7. I went in for my day 12 ultrasound, and my follicles we under 10mm. I went back in on day 16 and my follicles were only 5mm and 8mm. The nurse said that I was unresponsive to the Clomid and that I might want to start injectables. I am not sure what I should do. I go back in on Friday for another ultrasound to see if my follicles are any bigger and a blood test to see if I ovulated this cycle. What do you think I should do? Is another round of Clomid worth a try, or should I just proceed with the injectables? I am scared of the injectables but I want to have a baby more than anything. Any advise would be very helpful.

Starting clomid, need to share hopes, dreams and questions!

Hi everyone. I have been on and off this site for months, due to the ups and downs of my ttc journey.

I came off BCP in March. My husband and I got pregnant 3 years ago (while we were dating), which was unplanned. Unfortunately, I miscarried.

Needless to say, I was concerned that I didn't get pregnant just by looking at him this time when we were actually trying.

I am not entirely thrilled with my ob/gyn, as it's been a lot of "sit around and wait." She has also been very quick in our visits and doesn't leave enough time for questions..

I went off BCP in March and have never gotten a period on my own. Obviously, no ovulation either.

She ran some blood tests and it turns out the only thing she could see wrong was that I have low estrogen levels. She wanted to start me on clomid.

I am now taking provera to induce a period and will start clomid on cycle day five.

I am very new to this and am wondering how well clomid will work for me. I don't know why my estrogen levels are low? If I got pregnant easily 3 years ago with the same partner, I am hoping clomid will give me the little boost I need and it won't take us long to get pregnant

(wishful thinking I'm sure).

Anyone have any advice or tips for me for my first month on clomid?

I appreciate you reading this! :)

Clomid, Metformin, or Femara. Where to start?

Hi Doc. I've been on this site for a couple weeks now and have learned a lot from all these brave women. To keep it brief here's my deal. I have had missing or irregular cycles since coming off birth control in January. In July I was disgonsed with PCOS. I was told they found multiple small cysts on my ovaries with an ultrasound, but my BW said my hormone levels were ok. My Doc wanted to put me on birth control again to regulate me, but I asked her not to because we wanted to start TTC. We only really tried once in October after my last AF which started October 7th. I have not had AF again since then. I made an appointment to see my Doc on Decemeber 3rd. I am going to ask to start some treatment. I don't want to wait. Do you think it is a good idea to start with metformin to address the PCOS first and then see if I ovulate, or is that just wasting time? Will I only be put on clomid after that anyway. I read on a post somewhere that Metformin is not for women with PCOS who have normal hormone levels. My symptoms with PCOS are just basically missing or irregular periods and a slow metabolism (I can't lose weight as i used too, but that could also just be my age ((32)). I do not have any issues really with acne or facial hair either. I also learned that clomid has more difficult side effects, like bad headaches, and gaining weight. Femara sound pretty good. I'm so comfused. I know my the best thing to do is wait until I see my Doc, but I just want to be clear on each of these drugs and what they can do first. Any information you can give would be great.

2 months on clomid..But no BFP. Is it normal?

I was on clomid from 2 months (1st month 50 mg,2nd month 100mg). I ovulated both the months. But didnot get BFP. I got my AF today.

My question is...Normally for a health couple, how long they have to try clomid to get preggo?

can I still keep hopes on clomid? Or can I think of the alternatives?

Anyone got preggo after trying clomid 2+ months (with Ovulation)?

I didnot get preggo with 2 months on clomid. But, Can I still get preggo further trying clomid? or its mere waste of trying?

Welcoming everyones suggestions...
