Please let this work for us

My DH and I have been TTC for about 6 years. We were married in June 1997. We were fairly young at the time and not really ready to start a family. We always assumed we would have plenty of time for that later. I stopped taking BCP in 2003, still not really “trying”, just thinking it would happen eventually. After a year and a half with no BFP’s we both got checked out and the RE was unable to find anything wrong with either of us. We were officially placed in the “unexplained infertility” category. I went another 5 years counting cycle days, taking temps, and using OPK or fertility monitors to predict ovulation. We were still convinced it would happen naturally when the time was right. I still can’t believe 5 years came and went so fast. Now I’m 33 (almost 34) and DH is 34 and we’re running out of time to start our family. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover any type of fertility treatment so money is also an issue for us. We’ve put aside enough money to cover 3 rounds of IUI with injectables. I’m praying this works because we don’t have a Plan B.

We had our first IUI on February 3, 2010 (cd 12) after taking Femara cd3-7, Bravelle cd7, 8, & 9, and Ovidrel trigger on cd10. I’m currently 9dpiui and the 2ww is horrible. I’ve watched most of my friends and younger sibling have baby after baby over the years and I just hope it’s my turn to be a mommy and hold a beautiful baby in my arms.

Can I take FertilAid with Femara/Bravelle???

CD2 today and I just ordered some FertilAid. The reviews sound great! I have PCOS and am also on Metformin. Going to be taking Femara 5mg days 3-7, and Bravelle 75u days 6,8,10. Just wondering if it is okay to take FertilAid with these meds? I know there are varying opinions, but just want to know what you all think and why?

Thanks so much!! :-)

1st time IVF and hopefully the last

About me, I am 36 and Dh is 36. We have a 4 year old son which took us 7 months to conceive naturally. After he turned 1 we started to try for baby #2. It has now been 3 years! After about 2 years of trying I decided it was time to look into some fertility medication.

In October 2008 I took Clomid day 3-7 and 2mg of estradiol day 8-12. BFN

In November 2008 Did IUI and I took 50mg Clomid day 3-7 and 2mg of estradiol day 8-12. BFN

In December 2008 Did IUI and I took 100mg Clomid day 3-7 and 2mg of estradiol day 8-12. BFN

In January 2009 Did IUI and I took 100mg Clomid day 3-7 and 2mg of estradiol day 8-12. BFN

February, March, April, May 2009 No Meds, tried natural and each month BFN

So Now I am starting my 1st and hopefully ONLY round of IVF

I would love to share this experience with whoever would like to join me. I would also love to hear your IVF stories as well as be here to support one another.

BabyDust To All!!!!!!! :-)

Cheri & Nate's Baby Journey

Here's Our Story:

Hello Ladies,

This will be the first time I have ever posted my history/battle with infertility but I must admit that thru my first and second IVF cycles... I read so many posts which gave me so much hope. Which is one of the reasons I am willing to try again. Thanks to all of the women who had the courage to share their stories. It really helped me.

SO, HERE'S MY STORY.

In 2006 I was diagnosed with secondary infertility, at the time I was 34 yrs old with a high FSH of 16. I underwent my first failed IVF on or about 4/2006 the cycle was cancelled b/c DH sperm shattered the 3 matured eggs produced in this cycle.

The next four months….high FSH levels no IVF cycle.

Tried Acupuncture b4 my menses and to my surprise my level for the month of 9/2006 was at a cool 13 and I was given a go to start meds. This time it was a little different then the last b/c one fertilized only later to be a positive PG.

I wanted to take a break from all of this testing, needles and endless tears.

You wouldn’t believe what happened next, we got PG on our own…not trying or anything. Please we couldn’t remember the last time we had relations. Too funny but true. Only to have an ectopic PG 9 weeks later.

So here we are today, at a new fertility center CHR in NYC I feel very comfortable here I believe with the grace of god and the wonderful staff I am in good hands.

MY CURRENT IVF CYCLE 3/2009:

“All is possible thru your love and beliefs in God...He is really wonderful.”

I have started my 3rd round of IVF. I am on a Microdose Lupon Protocol. I believe God has made it possible for me to be in the capable hands of Dr. Barad and Dr. Gleicher. I will keep you guys informed.

MY TREATMENT:

I was recently tested again for my FSH level. My results revealed a level of 15 and I am 37 yrs old, my RE placed me on DHEA since 1/5/09. As of March 3/18 my FSH level is 8.4. I started Climara patches on 3/16 to 3/18; Lupon (10 units) on 3/18; Stims - Bravelle 3 vials 2x day, and Menopur 2 vials only at night. Today 3/23 was my first u/s and no follies were seen. Should I be worried? Prepare myself for a cancelled cycle. Please let me know if this happened to you and resulted in a BFP.

Delayed Period and Cysts

Hello

I have had TWO FAILED IUI's so far (One 12/28 with Clomid and one 2/3 with Bravelle). Last month I had to "Take off" due to Cysts. I am CD34 and I am usually 28-30 days. I have been gaining weight (I am an avid Athlete, SPIN Instructor and eat VERY Healthy)

My questions are the following:

Does It take a while for the Meds to leave your body (IE am i still having side effects from the Bravelle ie Weight Gain)?

Is it "Normal" for my period to be delayed because I had to "Sit out" for one month?

I am 40 1/2 yrs old and time is ticking away!

Thank you!!

PS. I took a HPT the other night and it was BFN!!

How do I mix Bravelle injections?

Hello

I just started Bravelle last night and I am supposed to take 150iu (each vial has 75iu). The directions say to add 1ml of the Sodium C. My question is this..Am I supposed to add 1ml of the Sodium to BOTH Vials OR Once I add the Sodium to the first Vial, take that solution (after all the powder is absorbed) and add to second vial?

I am in a lot of pain (Belly) today and not sure if it's the medication and/or my period is VERY bad this month.

Thank you VERY much for your feedback

Last night dh and I tried to have sex but I was so dry and not producing any lubrication, which of course makes it difficult. Is this a side effect from Menopur, Bravelle, Lupron or any other ivf med that I could be taking? It was so frustrating!

TTCing w/recurent miscarraiges & other fertility probs, hoping this new pregnancy sticks this time!

Well despite my fertility probs like: Anovulatory cycles, progestrone defiancy, thin uterine linning, irregular periods, reccurent miscarriage, blood clotting prob, etc...

And after m/c 11/02 natural, natural full-term pregnancy...birth 12/04 that beat the odds(due to fertility probs),med m/c 11/07,med m/c 3/08, currently natural preg(that beat the odds was our ttc cycle off cuz of egg low quality & only 1 follicle...6/08 was suppose to be IUI but got moved to 7/08...but got preg naturaly!)& hope to stay & carry full-term due date 3/4/09. Been activaly ttcing w/dh since 12/06, clomid w/ovidrel 5 cycles,1 cycle of clomid w/5 vials of menopur 75iu(test to see how I respond to injectables)& ovidrel. IUI w/40 vials bravelle & 2 ovidrel...ect was "suppose to" be done...but on our cycle off from ttcing concieved even thought RE said low chances that month...guess he was wrong..lol..just hope this pregnancy sticks!!!! Pray for me everyone!

Well here's what has happened so far my LMP was 6/1/08, I had a beta test done 7/3/08 18dpo & the hcg levels were 2,068 & I have a u/s on 7/9/08, but I was curious if this level was high for a singleton pregnacy...& thought..is it possibly twins? I didn't use any meds this time...this cycle was suppose 2 be a ttc break...so this was a suprise pregnacy. Also I've had 3 m/c's in the past so...was worried if the hcg was even normal. Then I had an ER trip very late nite on 7/5/08(7/6/08 by the time I got my labs done & seen it was AM...lol) due 2 cramping...but I didn't m/c thank god!! I had my beta done again & it was 5,378 HCG & get this my u/s showed a singleton pregnancy & the baby measured @ 5w 4d!! So my dpo @ HCG 2,068 on 7/3/08 was really 22dpo not 18dpo..which is werid cuz my LMP was 6/1/08...so I'd ovulated on the 11th(7/11/08) not the 15th(7/15/08) which means instead of 14 days after LMP having ovulation I had 10days after LMP for ovulation?! So my dpo as of 7/6/08 is 25dpo & so my due date is changed & everything 3/4/09 instead of 3/8/09! Well it will be more confirmed @ my RE appt on 7/9/08 after another beta & u/s..& will keep u all posted! Was thinking is it possible to ovulate 10days after LMP?! Was that normal?! Since I'm a worry wart & paronid I wanted to be sure & I got some reassurence from some fellow TTCers on here :-) !

well funny thing about my current pregnancy really has to be the irony that I have been using fertility meds for the last 2 pregnancies that I m/c'd & this 1 was on no meds cuz I was suppose to take a break...cuz egg quality wasn't good enough..cuz I was gonna have an iui scheduled in 6/08 & it got moved to 7/08 instead...& than..BAM...suprise..we're pregnant!

I mean my RE had said that in July if my follicles are the right maturity size enough & my uterine lining is ok & other stuff like that...I can try to get pregnant & do a cycle of my meds & do my IUI procedure. I was told that if I tried in June I probaly wouldn't be successful...& it wouldn't be worth my money(I'm self-pay currently for everything)...since I have just only 1 follicle...which he thought was a cyst @ 1st in my exam...he said it was the same size it was b4 last cycle & hadn't changed...that if a follicle stops maturing sometimes it turns into a cyst...& it may or may not be reabsorbed by my body....but to make sure it wasn't a cyst they needed to do some blood work...so they did & I went home waiting for their call.....well the RE's office called me back to say it wasn't a cyst, but that is was a follicle that had stopped maturing for some reason & the tests say that follicle is producing estrogen so it may continue to mature & release an egg...but....they weren't sure...& that I should just hold off that cycle from IUI till July to see what chances I might stand for pregnacy then. My RE wanted me to have a few follicles...that arn't so immature to try to have a successful cycle w/meds & my IUI procedure. And well here I am now w/the odds beat & pregnant..lol! I'll update you all more later!

question about injectables

i was on clomid for 3 months ...50mg for 2 months and 100mg with bravelle 75iu for 3 days.first month clomid 50mg no iui had 1 follie..2nd month 50mg clomid iui and 1 follie...3rd month 100mg clomid bravelle75iu for 3 days 1 follie.

i guess my question is what injectables do you think would be good for more eggs being produced?

Lack of Symptoms??

Dr. Q,

This month I did Femara 5 mg daily, Bravelle injections, I took the Ovidrel trigger shot last Friday evening and started Prometrium suppositories on Monday. I am actually worried that I DON't have sore boobs this month?? My only real symptoms have been upset stomach off and on(some diarrhea), and very tired! Have been taking a nap every afternoon. Is this normal?

Thank you!
