The latest on me, more to come tomorrow...BFP here I come!

Was supposed to have LAP done today, but since insurance is screwed up, I don't want to risk being charged out of pocket if they claim it as pre-existing...so waiting til April atleast, that way the pre-existing clause is no longer in effect. I had repeat labs for my prolactin on Monday, so I will find out tomorrow at my appt. how that's doing. I am also going to talk to my Dr. about just doing the HSG right now, I have had recommendations by Dr. Q and several others here, to go with the less invasive first, and that totally makes sense. So I hope I can get that done soon! I am going to see if they can bill it as something other than infertility so insurance will cover it, but then if they do I will have to wait on that also! That's all I have for now. Wish me luck tomorrow, and prayers that prolactin is ok.

Bella's Journey - A Big Positive!!

Hey everyone! Well my husband and I haven't been trying too long, just 12 months... but it has still be heartbreaking every month to get a negative HPT. We are very hopeful and know that when God wants us to have this child we will. In this past year I have had a slew of friends get pregnant and have their babies. As hard as it is to see them and their little miracles, I have felt genuinely happy for them. I just recently had my HCG done and will be testing in just a few short days since my period is 4 days late. Keep me in prayer that this month be the month! I will keep you posted as my journey starts to unravel!

Yesterday I decided to test even though I didnt think it would be positive. I left the test in the bathroom, my husband when he came from running errands, found it and couldn't believe it. He ended up telling me! I never would have guessed. I'm eating like a piggy and feeling incredibly tired with slight headaches and my bbs are just about to explode.

This site has helped me tremendously and I love this community. Bady dust to all the gorgeous ladies on there and sticky glue!!!

I just want to cry

I'm so confused right now. On saturday I took a equate test which showed a very faint positive. I posted a pic on here and everyone agreed, positive. Well I went out and got Answer tests on Sunday and took one and it came out negative. UGH why is this happening to me??? I don't know what to think now. I don't have much hope though. I've been cramping on and off today. AF is due tomorrow.

A VERY VERY faint line showed up as the test was completing. Im not sure if you can see it from the picture, but its there when you look at the test.
Jen's Journey- BFP =)

Been trying to have our first baby for 3 years as of October 2008. My husband is 24 and I am 23. We were best friends in high school, I've known him since I was 6 years old. We've been together 6 years on November 2nd =)

Been married for 3 years. Bought our first house a month before we got married. We are hard working and honest mid-west people. =)

After stopping birth conrtol pills I did not have a period for 13 months. Then once I got a period every month I tried naturally for a year, nothing. So I went to the Dr and found out I do not ovulate on my own (even though I get a period each month I fall into the 20% of women who get a false period but do not ovulate) I'm on clomid right now.

First round 50 mg- No ovulation.

Second round 50 mg- No ovulation, but on huge follicle at least. Progesterone level 0.8 on cd 25.

Third Round 100 mg- 3 mature follicles, ovulated cd 15.

Nov. 29th 2008- GOT MY BFP =)

I am very thankful for this site and I ♥ all you ladies for helping me along the way!

After ectopic surgery is it possible that I have a pregnancy in my uterus?

Ok so this is kind of complicated, but 11/5/08 I went to the local ER for pain that ended up being an ectopic pregnancy. The twist is the U/S supposedly showed twins! 1 in my uterus & 1 in my right fallopian tube,Hcg level was high 5k/almost 6k at 5weeks 3days. I was taken by ambulance to a bigger hospital 1hr away.

There the Dr looked at the same U/S pictures after I insisted I wanted an alternative surgery to save the baby in my uterus. The Dr then claimed the other hospital/Dr was wrong and only 1 baby was in my right tube. So I 11/6/08 I had surgery to remove ectopic, but I still feel preg(tender breasts)and no bleeding except a few drops of pink right after surgery. Is it possible the Dr lied so I would have surgery?!I still have paperwork for lab hcg test to take at the local hospital when I can. I'm terrified that the Dr lied! So my question is with levels that high how long would it take hcg to go down to zero?! Also weren't my hcg levels high for a singleton in my tube only?!Was the 1st hospital telling the truth about twins?! Maybe I'm being paranoid, but why would I be told two different stories?! Please answer Dr or ladies, but I prefer the Dr on here to answer with opinions and advice! I keep having dreams I'm preg still too! I just can't stop wondering if it's still possible there's still a baby in my uterus like the orginal hospital told me. I feel so crazy for asking this, but it's really bothering me. When I finally get my beta hcg done again, I'll probably feel stupid, but what if it's true? Here's my bfp hpt today: and the box my hpt came in: On Monday I'm going in for beta. Also I haven't bled yet after ectopic!

Our journey and update...

Our story goes like this,we have been TTC since sep 2006.April 2008 i was diagnosed with pcos.Up until this point i was told nothing was wrong with me, even though i KNEW it was!!HSG clear and s/a normal.finally started our first round of clomid 50mgs in August 2008,unfortunately i didnt ovlate and it caused me to have a cyst.October-second round of clomid 100mg this time.Day 12 scan showed follicle 20mm, day 15 scan showed follicle at 32mm!!Trigger shot given on cd 15.query follicle or cyst?B/w cd 21 showed progesterone 68 so it was a follicle, unfortunately we got another BFN,possibly due to the follicle being overmature?I am now currently cd 12 of clomid cyle 3,100mgs again and went for a scan which showed one mature follicle (19mm)So they gave me the trigger shot, so i should ovulate tomorrow hopefully :-)We have decided if this cycle doesnt work for us that we should take a TTC break as much as we want this the disappointment is becoming a little too much for us.Hopefully we wont have to take this break as we will get our BFP this month :-) Baby dust to all!!!

My Journey - PCOS to baby!

I figured it was about time I updated my journey. Hopefully this will help someone else get to that BFP!

My dh & I started trying to conceive in September 2007. I stopped taking the pill somewhere near the end of August 2007. Like everyone else, we thought we would get pregnant very quickly. We even planned a big anniversary/baby making trip to Mexico. We were sooooo excited! No one in our families has had any problems with infertility. We are both young (I was 27 & my dh 29) and we are both within a normal bmi.

The first month we tried I thought I was pregnant b/c AF didn't come for about 5-6 wks. But I kept getting BFN's. The next cycle was about 7 weeks. then the next about 8 weeks. Each time I thought I was pregnant, but got BFN. I didn't understand bc before I went on BC I always had long (32 day) but regular cycles. I went to an OB/GYN & she said it could take 6 months for your body to regulate after getting off of BC and all I could do was wait. So I waited, and kept trying. I went back at 6 months and was told that there was nothing I could do, but try for a year and then go see an RE. If your doctor tells you that - FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR.

Luckily I made an appointment with another dr., thanks to the advise from the people on this site. He did some blood work and told me my Fsh levels were normal, I think it was 6 or 7. But my LH was through the roof at 21. THat meant one of 2 things. 1. I was ovulating. Or 2. I had PCOS. He told me to bd just in case, but to also try the ovulation predictor kits and charting my temps to see what I found. During this time - I still getting AF, but only every 7-9 weeks.

I started buying the regular OPK's at first and realized they were always both pink and I couldn't tell the difference. Also, I couldn't really tell the best time to take them b/c I didn't have regualr cycles. So, I upgraded. I bought the digital OPK's and I started using them ever day. I finally got a positive and was so excited! But when AF didn't show in 2 wks and I still got a BFN I resorted to starting over. THat's when I noticed I would get several positive - digitial - OPK's a cycle.

My charting wasn't much help either as it looked more like a topography map than anything else. I took my temp at exactly the same time every morning and even put it on fertilityfriends.com for digital tracking, but it just said "anovulatory". Or would say I ovulated when I had not. So, I bought a book on PCOS, read it, and headed back to the dr. After all, his sign said he dealt with "infertility".

If I could pass one word of advise onto anyone reading this it would be that not all dr's that say they work with infertility do. Writing scripts for Comid & fertility shots is not the same as being specialized in infertility and trying to find and target the problem. Dr's need no special training to add "infertility" to their sign outside. So be sure to ask exactly what makes your dr. specialized.

Anyways, back to the story. I went back to the dr with my charts and my stories of my OPK's. I obviously wasn't ovulating the last time I went when my LH was so high, so I was assuming it was the PCOS, but I wasn't completely convinced after reading the book about it. I'm not overweight, I used to have regular cycles, and my dr never did an ultrasound to confirm.

Instead, he just gave me Clomid. I should point out that I do have PCOS and it has been confirmed with an ultrasound (different doc). But fully explaining, and fully diagnosing are all parts of being a good doctor in my mind.

FIrst round of clomid I had a AF came after 28 days, but was VERY light. I don't know if I actually ovulated b/c that dr. doesn't check progesterone levels. But I started another round of Clomid just in case. That time I bought the $250 OV watch (waste of money). I didn't get AF the second time. I took a month off, then went back to the dr. He was ready to put me on fertility shots, but at 27. I was not ready for the risk of triplets, so I asked if I could try an increased dose of Clomid first. I had HORRIBLE side effects, but still no AF. I talked it over with my husband and we decided we would rather adopt than have triplets at our current ages, we just didn't think we could handle it. So we decided to hold off on the shots.

By this time it was September 2008, a year of trying, so I started looking into RE's. I originally thought you only went to an RE for invitro - but thought I would look into it more. I found acrm.com and read their "journey" which was almost an exact footprint of mine. I researched prices and realized it wasn't as expensive as I had originally thought so I made an appt.

My first appointment was at the beginning of September 2008. I had actually just gotten AF - randomly - a couple of days before my appt.

I went in, they talked to me for about half an hour explaining all the steps and the options & what all we needed to check. They immediately did an ultrasound to check my ovulation status and my PCOS (which confirmed it). I was given Femara to make me ovulate

(since clomid didn't work), and metformin to get my insulin levels under control b/c of my PCOS.

They sent me for a full blood work-up to make sure nothing else was wrong. ANd sent me to have an HSG to clear my tubes & make sure they weren't blocked. On 9/10 I came back for another ultrasound to check my ovulation status. I had 4 eggs "in the running", came back the next day for an HCG trigger shot to induce the ovulation. Then came back on 9/12 for an IUI. We figured after a year of bd - we would go ahead and try an IUI if they could get us to ovulate. On 9/19 (my birthday!) I went back for a blood test where they confirmed that I HAD ovulated! And my progesterone was high enough to carry a child. ON 9/24 I took a Home pregnancy test and got my very first BFP! I went back on 9/25 for a confirmation blood test which confirmed I WAS PREGNANT!

They had me come back for 2 more blood tests, then an ultrasound at 6 weeks where I saw my baby for the first time. And another ultrasound at 7wks 3days where I saw the heartbeat (139) for the first time. They released me to my regular OB who I went to at 9weeks for my 3rd ultrasound and saw the heartbeat at 164! Just one month after going to an RE I was pregnant!

I am now 11 weeks, almost through the first trimester, and I've never been happier in my life!
