Hello Everyone!! I am driving myself crazy...I have left message after message on the answering machine at the RE that I saw in Sept.
bcp

Why does RE's put patients on bcp? Is this to regulate your cycle for IVF? Is this the only reason to be on bcp? Is there any onther reason? I don't want to try IVF. It's not in my budget. I don't want to be wasting time if thats the reason.

Birth control pills, pregnancy chance, I am so confused :(

this is a little confusing.. this month, on july 8th, i started my period and planned on starting bcp's on the following sunday. that sunday about an hour before i started the pills, i had unprotected sex. (my period had stopped.) he pulled out, and did not ejaculate until later. i figured if i took the pills right after sex, and that i had just finished my period, it would make chances pretty small. it has been a little under a week now, and i work outside painting buildings outside. i have been very sick every day because the pills make me extremely sensitive to sunlight. (serious migrains, eye pain, nauseausness, just all around bad.) I have not had sex since that one time. however i think i'm going to stop the pills today. I have taken about four or five. my question is, how high are the chances of pregnancy, and what should i expect for a period and when? I'm really nervous. :(

dr q question on bcp and fertility

Ok, so you probably know #1 was conceived on first try..#2 is 2 yrs now, two chemicals later..and I just had a retrieval..day 3 transfer on Sunday. So, they found many of my eggs to be immature and only 3 fertilized. I was on bcp for years b/f ds and actually got prego first cycle off. Does bcp effect egg maturity? Is it true you are more fertile after bcp?

Thanks doc!

Lupron

I know that you said that lupron works by stimulating the pituitary (GnRH agonist) to produce FSH&LH that EVENTUALLY it shuts the production of FSH and LH. I take my lupron depot shot tomorrow morning(CD18). I usually take my BC in the afternoon, so I would have 4 more pills left. Should those 4 BCs be enough to not allow the initial stimulation/secretion of FSH&LH?

BCP for increased fertility?

Do they still do that..ever?? The reason I ask is..my ds was conceived first cycle off bcp and now we are almost 2 yrs ttc for another. A pharmacist even comented on this topic to my dh. We are almost ready to do an ivf cycle..but just curious if this would have possibly worked?

what's going on?

hello dr.

ok here's my story- my period started on march 16 and didn't finish until march 22 and then i had my HSG done on the 24th of march. on the 18th of march i started taking birth control-- my RE requested that I do this so that when I see him in April I would have already had or was going to have my period and we could get started on the treatments right away-- ok..well today is the 31st of march and when i went pee i had many wipes of pink and some gooey mucus stuff that was a little brown- like the start of my period. i am wondering if that is the case, is this weird, should i be at all concerned or could it be my body so confused now that i started taking the birth control pills? PLEASE HELP, ANYONE! :)

No period since Jan 9th & neg test

I was in here a couple of weeks ago and was asking about pregnancy. I have not had a period since Jan 9th and have taken several at home tests all negative. Matter of fact I took one today and it was negative. I beleive it may be time to see a doctor. I was on the pill for 16 years and just got off them last June with perfect on time periods until now could this be my problem?? If I am not pregnant that means I am not ovulating and that worries me since I am now 34 years old.
