Confused

Hi. My name is Ashley and I am new to this site. I am 23 years old, married, and the mother of a 1.5yo girl. My husband and I aren't really TTC, but we're also not NOT trying. Anyway, I am confused right now because I had my last period on September 5th, and haven't had any spotting or bleeding or anything since that cycle. I have taken six tests since October 3rd, the most recent one today. They all were urine tests and all were negative. The one today was at the health clinic on my college campus and the nurse practitioner told me that since I weigh 266lbs and have mild unwanted facial hair and haven't had a period in two months that I must have PCOS. She didn't run any tests to prove this, but she told me that I should take progesterone for ten days to force a cycle. I wanted a blood test and/or an ultrasound to rule out any other possibilities, but they couldn't do those tests at the clinic so I told her I would consult with my husband and figure out what to do. My maternal and paternal grandmothers, a paternal aunt and a maternal aunt, my mother, my sister, and two cousins all have endometriosis, but the NP didn't think I could have that. I have had Trichimonis and Bacterial Vaginosis as a teenager but they were both treated right away. I know it is rare for a woman to test negative this late in pregnancy, but I do know of it happening. I have resigned myself to the idea that I am most likely not pregnant, but I am worried about what to do now. I don't want to take random medication to treat an issue if that is not what is really wrong with me. I guess I just need to know what the next step should be.

Discolored Cervical mucus

Hi, I am wodering if it is normal to have yellowy cervical mucus? I am not usually in short supply of it either (sorry TMI). Accompanied with irregular cycles that are long, heavy, painful and last 30 - 45 days.

I am also concerned because I get the occasional sore (3-4 in 3yrs marriage) on the entrance of my vagina. They are kind of like a cold sore, but can be pussy as well(sorry, TMI again!). They are very painful. My husband and I waited for marriage and neither of us has ever been with anyone else. So I don't think it could be an STD.

Thank you so much for all of your help!!

Can dh catch bacterial vaginosis?

Dr swabbed for bacterial vaginosis, which is caused by a change in ph levels in the vagina. She gave me meds to use tonight... but, if dh and I were to have sex one last time before baby comes, before I insert the meds, is this something he can catch?

Dr Q,

Thanks for your post but can you please tell me where Bacterial Vaginosis comes from? Does it come from sexual intercourse or is it due to ph change in vagina. Some say it is a STD but my DR didnt mention this and did i get it from my partner? Im really confused
