Jolenes 38week appointment!

Not much to say, 1CM, thinning, Station -2, gained 1.5 pounds so now im at 26.5 pounds total weight gain. Im thinking a good 10 or more is water retention with the swelling and stuff.

I did start to spot after this appointment, which I have been checked 4 times now and never spotted, but I know its totally normal. Its just so weird since we had sex the other night and I didnt spot.

We are keeping up with the sex, and hoping that will get Noah out SOON! Im very ready.

Been having more and more cramping, especially before the appointment it was bad, then after of course it was bad from being checked.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us, just trying to do last minute things and enjoy the peace and quite before little man gets here :)

Why won't the doctor see me before 8 weeks?!

I had a early miscarriage in August. Six weeks later I am pregnant again. Right now i am 5 weeks. I feel even though things are going good, no cramping, no bleeding, that I would be able to worry less till the 8 week appointment if I could at least have my prenatal visit Now! The doctor's office won't see me, they say it's not necessary! I am feeling very aggravated and annoyed..

38 Week Dr.'s Appointment... aggghhh!!

hi ladies, i just got back from my 38 week 2 day appointment and absolutely NO progress!! ZERO dilation and still the same effacement. she thinks the baby's come down lower, but i think she just said that to make me feel better. :-(

anyway, my due date is still just shy of 2 weeks and the pain has been unbearable and the lack of sleep b/c of it, so i'm at my wit's end. i can't believe i'm not even dilated 1cm. of course, there was no talk of induction at this point b/c i'm not dilated at all... she did say that we will see where i'm at next week and if i want, i can be induced like a day before my due date... but that is not set in stone as she doesn't want to do it unless i progress on dilation. oh and get this she said "i don't think the baby will be unusually large..." WHAT!! i thought they told me she's on the small side?? could she have grown that much since my 36 week u/s???

she mentioned how she would induce and said that i would take some oral med (can someone tell me what this med would be? i was so bummed out, i didn't remember what she called it) and then pitocin to try to get me going. i am SO nervous that i'll go over my due date and/or they induce me and i'll get no where only to end up with a c-section. i have nothing against c-sections, but i just would like to prepare myself mentally AND i'd like to save myself the trouble of pushing my guts out only to have one, know what i mean?

the ONLY good news i got was that the creep doctor that was so mean to me is only the back up doctor on like 2 days for the next 2 weeks and won't be on call until Nov. 11th! YAY!!! that was such a blessing b/c i was so nervous that he'd be on call when i go into labor.

on a side note, i am ornery lately. i ordered a to go meal from MiMi's Cafe (turkey platter... yes i'm very much looking forward to Thanksgiving) and when i got there, they said they ran out of turkey... grrrrr... i asked why they didn't call me to let me know so i didn't have to stand there waiting...of course, no reply. then i go on to order meatloaf (it's getting cold here and i just wanted some comfort food) and they give me 2 slabs of meatloaf... NO GRAVY!!! BONE DRY MEATLOAF!!!! of course i called to "lodge my complaint" and all they could offer was a gift certificate in the mail. ha ha, as you can see, i'm just irritated right now and the stars are completely out of alignment for me. LOL. i'll stop rambling now. LOL

please, please, please send me some dilation and labor dust.

My Dr. appt on 10-1-08

Ok i know alot of you were wondering what happend so here goes:)

1'st off i think i really like this dr. He seems understanding and he didin't mention anything about my weight. Which of course as u know is a big thing w/ me. Well he says i could have PCOS so he's setting me up w/ an u/s on Oct 22nd. and i have to get a insulin test done as well. I honestly don't think i have that as i have had 3 pregnancies and all 3 were conceived fast and w/o any sort of fertility help. But i can understand his concern so i will go in for testing just to ease his and my mind. He prescribed me Provera to help jump start me. He said my body should go back to normal after i get the bleed from Provera. He also prescribed me pre natal pills. So it seems like to me he knows i want to have another baby and yes i am VERY overweight but it seems like he wants to help me acheive my goal:) Oh i also got a pap done i really hate those..lol But We will see when i get my reslts back from the insulin blood test.

Now i have a question for those who took Prvera... It says on my directions that i have to start taking it on day 1-5 on my cycle.. Well im not having a cycle. so does that mean i can just start taking it tomorrow? I will call the dr's tomorrow just to make sure.. but if u know it would be helpful.

Ok thats about it. Im satisfied and hopeful now that i took the 1'st step:)

What should I say to my doctor?

Recap of my situation:

Hubby and I are TTC. I was on Ortho TriCyclen for a year and before that my period was very irregular:heavy flow, skipped, etc.

I got off about 5/6 months ago and my period has been regular ever since but that might be the b/c still in my system

My last regular period was Aug 10th. Sept 11th after sex with DH I bled a little red blood. Then the 12-14th I brown spotted LIGHTLY and then it stopped. On the 14th I started a red flow for a few days and then it was "finishing up" lightly and it STILL hasnt stopped doing that and its the 23rd!!!

So I have an appt with the gyno Thurs. I want to tell the doctor I need to be tested for PCOS or to see if Im ovulating on my own but I am young and the doctors never take me seriously when I tell them I am TTC (I am 19 but I am married and both my husband and I want children)

So what should I say?

Hard Decision

I had an appointment with my OBGYN yesterday to discuss my irregular periods (coming every 2 weeks) and fertility (since we've been TTC for 3 years). The appointment went horribly ladies... I feel like a horrible person for wanting to get pregnant now. I left there feeling like I would be a horrible mom. :(

She said that she doesn't want to see me pregnant right now. I should get on birth control for a year or two so I could have time to lose weight, get my blood pressure under control (it's being controlled well right now), and she said I have plenty of time (even after I told her that we've been trying for 3 years).

She said I could do whatever I want, but basically she isn't going to help me. All she is willing to do is put me on birth control to control my every 2 week stupid period. I just got into the car after the appoitment and left, didn't tell my husband how it went or anything. Now I'm trying to decide if I really would be a bad mom getting pregnant... Or if I should just give up and go on birth control for a year or two... Heartbreaking.

This is the 3rd doctor to tell me the same thing and refuse to help. I'm so upset. I just want to curl up in a ball, lock myself in my room, and stay there forever...

30week Appointment

Everything went well, the doctor said that the pain im having is more then likely round ligament which is what i thought, and she said it should lighten up here very soon since its been lasting for 2 weeks now. She said if it doesnt stop in the next week or 2 then to def. let them know. Im ready for it to go away since just doing simple and basic things brings it on and it hurts soo badly.

Im measuring right on, actually she did mention I was 29weeks (since Im 29weeks 6days today), so im wondering if I was measuring 29weeks, and not 30weeks...hmmm, anyways its all good.

I didnt gain any weight from my last appointment 2weeks 4days ago, so im only up 12 pounds total so far.

His heartrate was 140 and it took her a good 2-3 minutes to find it, scared the crap out of me at first.

I think thats it, so far soo good, blood preasure was great as always and yeah thats it :)

Drs: Leukocytes in Semen?

Docs:

We just did IUI #2 today with our OB/GYN. They don't do a formal S/A on hub's sample, but they did say that compared to last month, the counts were down and the leukocytes were up. My OB asked that hub have a followup appointment with the urologist.

Hub did a 30-day course of doxycycline (but it took him 44 days to do it). His urologist did tell him it could take up to 3 months to see results.

His S/A results from June were:

Volume: 3.0 mL

Concentration 47.3 million/mL

Motility at 70 minutes: 40%

Morphology: 35%

Liquefaction: Upon Receipt

PH: 8.1

Leukocytes: Moderate

Red Blood Cells: None Seen

He has not had an S/A since then.

Docs: What should we be asking at the urology appointment? It's Friday.

-------------------------

To anyone else reading this: please hold your comments till after a doc answers. I don't want to miss out on their valuable opinon. Thank you!

Appointment today @ 23weeks 2days

So far so good still. Noah didnt want to behave in the ultrasound. The tech tried so hard to get him to show his face, but he kept hiding it or turning away. I will scan in some of his pics in a little while after I eat lunch and get some work done, but again he didnt behave...haha.

Im measuring right at 23weeks so thats good, only gained 6 pounds so far. I still have what I thought I was told was a yeast infection but now this doctor said its something with my white blood cells, he said its totally fine, but im sick of the yellow leaking discharge, with like balls of white stuff in it, im soo sorry thats TMI but has anyone or is anyone having this? It drives me NUTS! Is there anything I can take for it, because apparently its not a yeast infection, nothing itches or anything.

Also next appointment is the glucose testing, woohoo...haha not. Also I have to get my shot since im RH-, cant wait let me tell ya...I HATE SHOTS! But all is great :)

Does anyone know if after the 28 week appointment it goes 2 weeks right? I forgot to ask, and my next appointment I will be 27weeks 2days, so that will be close enough im sure.

Lots of love ladies and wishing everyone the best :)

I'm on to my OB/GYN....

...i've had my last visit at my RE's office today. I'm 8 weeks 4 days but measuring 8 weeks 3 days. We saw the little beanie baby and he/she was wiggling their arms and legs. The heartbeat was 168bpm. So everything is progressing well and i'm just praying everything goes well and we deliver a healthy happy baby in February! I have my first appt with my OB/GYN on August 6th!

40 weeks today - appointment update

WEll, today is my due date. I had an appointment today and it doesnt seem like Alayna is going to join us willingly. I am now 2cm dilated. I had my membranes swept again - I'm pretty crampy and bleeding - which I guess are both good signs. I'm so sick of thinking that labor is going to begin only to be disappointed.

I have an ultrasound and NST scheduled for next Monday, and an induction scheduled for Wednesday the 23rd. My goodness, I dont want to wait that long. I so hope this child decides to come out on her own.

Thats all my news for now....

First OB visit tomorrow!

Hi Everyone :)

I go in for my first OB doctor appointment tomorrow :)I will be 13 weeks on Saturday. I was seeing a RE to get pregnant-but since everything has been looking great I have "graduated" to seeing a regular OB doctor! I already had the nurse visit a few weeks ago- but I am not quite sure what to expect this appointment. So could any of you ladies give a lil input on what your first appointment was like?

Thank yoU!

Backwards Transition

I skipped the OBGYN and went right to seeing the RE; however, before my first appointment (but after my testing), we ran into a little personal problem and we can't go any further with the RE right now.

I don't ovulate on my own usually, but I still have a period every month... sometimes twice a month. My cycles are very short and my progesterone level was 0.7 on CD 18, so I know there is a problem.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I have decided to try seeing my new regular OBGYN and asking her for help. The worst she could do is tell me no, right? So, my appointment (the earliest one availible) is September 11th at 11:30 AM.

Wish me luck ladies! Lord knows, I need it!

First U/S too early??? Girls? Dr. Q?

Hi- I have my first prenatal appt and u/s at 6 weeks, 4 days...is this too early to see the heartbeat? Due to our conflicting schedules the doctor wouldn't be able to see my until 10 weeks if we didn't do the earlier appt.

What are the chances of being able to see the heartbeat then?

second doctors vist at 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant

Dr. Q,

Is it normal for a doctor to only feel your stomach and go over test results you had at the previous vist for your second appoint? I was 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant when I went for my second check up. At my first checkup at 5 weeks and 3 days, they did all the blood work and pap smear and internal check. At 6 weeks I had an u/s. This past appointment was my second visit with the doctor. All he did was go over my u/s results and blood test results and then felt my uterus. Is this normal, or should I have expected somthing more.

I am having second thoughts about my doctor, but if I am expecting to much, I want to give him a chance. What do you think? Thanks

Just starting out

I found this worksheet while doing some reading. I thought for the women who are just entering the 1st step or just going to see an RE might find this useful. These are things to think about or things you might need to change in your lifestyle.

Weight:

Height:

Current medications:

How many months have you been actively trying to get pregnant?

Have you tried charting your basal body temperature, ovulation cycle, and cervical mucus?

MENSTRUAL HISTORY:

Do you have an irregular menstrual cycle? For example, do you have your period more or less than once a month?

Do you have exceptionally light or heavy periods?

How many days long is your menstrual cycle?

Do you spot between periods? Or have any unexplained bleeding?

During menstruation, do you have severe pelvic pain or cramping?

Did you get your first period after age 18?

MEDICAL HISTORY:

Do you have a feeling of heaviness in your pelvis?

Have you been diagnosed with endometriosis?

Have you been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome?

Have you had any pelvic or abdominal surgery, such as an appendectomy?

Do you have a history of abnormal Pap smears?

Have you had your tubes tied (tubal ligation)? Have you had a reversal?

Do you have any chronic illness such as diabetes, thyroid disease, or hypertension?

Do you take any medications (including herbal medications)?

Have you ever been pregnant or given birth and had complications?

Have you had any miscarriages? How many have you had, and did you and your doctor come to any conclusions about the cause? Did they occur in the first 12 weeks or in the second 12 weeks of pregnancy?

SEXUAL HISTORY:

Have you ever used an intrauterine device (IUD) as birth control?

Have you ever tested positive for a sexually transmitted infection? Which one?

Do you have pain during sex?

Do you spot after intercourse?

FAMILY HISTORY:

Are you a DES daughter (did your mother take diethylstilbestrol, a synthetic estrogen given to women between 1941 and 1971 to prevent miscarriages)?

Have any other members of your family had problems with genetic defects or stillbirths?

LIFESTYLE HISTORY:

How many cups of caffeinated beverages (coffee, soda, tea) do you drink per day?

Do you drink alcohol? How many drinks per week?

Do you smoke? How many packs of cigarettes a week?

Are you under- or overweight?
