Dr. Q,

I have been ttc for about 18 mos. under the care of an RE, and recently my new family dr. thinks insulin resistance. I am 37 and have only 1 tube and ovary (yes, we are considering IVF).

I got a +opk on Monday, cd 16 (whoch is late for me), and last night I was bleeding, not spotting, bleeding. I am worried about this.

Should I contact my dr.? What could this be from?

Thank you!

Steph B.

My 37week Appt

Everything is still the same, 1CM dialated (now for 3 weeks), and still thinning out. He is @ Station -2 like before, I didnt gain any weight from last appointment to this appointment. I have gained a total of 25pounds.

They said Noah is full term and is welcome to come out whenever he would like.

Still having MAJOR pelvic pain, I was in so much pain shopping today, I thought at times I wasnt going to make it ,especially when I tried to speed up my walking to get the shopping done faster.

Im having more CM then normal, well more CM then the past 2 weeks. It totally slowed down a TON for 2 weeks straight, and is now back in full force again as of yesterday and today.

Umm...I think thats about it.

Today is 3weeks from induction date, so either way not long.

I got his christmas outfits today and they are so darn cute. I ended up getting like 4. 2 for Christmas Eve, and 2 for Christmas day, but im hoping that he can wear the Christmas day one all day, its soo darn cute, and got the cutest booties to go with it. But if not I will have to change him.

Cant wait to get him all dressed up :)

Alright thats it, hope all is well with everyone :)

37 week doctor's check up

hi ladies. went to a late dr.'s appointment. i'm only about 60% effaced (she first said 80%) and NO dilation. well she said, so little she wouldn't even say it's 1cm. she also said (with no prompting from me) that by end of week 38 that if i don't deliver AND i have any dilation, that she would induce me??? i don't know why. i guess it could be she worries the baby will get too big for me to deliver vaginally???

but then, there's that increased risk of having an emergency c-section so i don't know what to do. do you ladies have any opinions or suggestions? thanks! oh and i'll post another baby bump pic soon!

What could be causing these cramps?

Is it too late in the game for cramps to be round ligament pain?

I'm so crampy right around the cervix area. No bladder infection, placenta looked great on my u/s today (no where near my cervix anyhow)

I'm so crampy though.. sometimes I start to wonder if I'm about to have a contraction but then nothing happens! It just hurts!

Weight of the baby maybe?

2 cm dilated, 50% effaced...and bleeding??

Hi Dr. Q!!

I just went to my 37-week prenatal appointment this morning and found that I'm 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I have been having irregular contractions, the worse was two nights ago when I haven't slept until 6:00 a.m. The contractions were ranging from 5-10 minutes apart and they're strong enough to wake me up, but they're not that painful yet. After waking from my nap at 2:30 p.m. and felt the urge to go to the bathroom, blood started trickling down the toilet and I was in shock!! I felt like I was having my period! I haven't noticed my mucus plug coming out yet, but I called my doctor right away. I was told to relax and observe for any contractions. I'm keeping a record now of the contractions and they're still very irregular. I do feel a very dull "menstrual cramp" feeling.

What's causing the bleeding if the contractions are not that strong and painful yet? Could the internal exam cause it? The blood was darkish brown looking. I feel very uncomfortable standing up and walking around because of the pressure. I haven't felt this when I gave birth to my daughter because I was induced at 38 weeks. Am I close to having true labor? I'm sure you have experienced this a lot of times, I just want to know your opinion.

Thank you so much, doc!! :-)

Dr. Q-Clomid, or other feritlity meds and 37!!!

Dr. Q! I'm trying to lose weight before I start on clomid. But I do plan on asking a new RE for it very soon. Now I do ovulate on my own. Would it be safe for me to start clomid or do you suggest something else to help my poor old eggs! Plus should I ask the dr about my progesterone levels.

Over 35 and Not Pregnant

I am 37 years old, and my husband and I are TTC. I'm worried as to why I'm not pregnany yet. We've been trying now for four months. I take my temperature, monitor my ovulation, chart, etc. I haven't been on BC in years, and I've never been pregnant either. I'm feeling concerned. Would you recommend that I make a visit to my OB/GYN now, rather than waiting year? I don't have much time.
