Zero Sperm - Anyone have success story?

Hi cindy- Just saw your question. Can;t say we have success yet, but definetely a similar problem. Low semen and zero sperm. We are also starting our 1st IVF process. Still in the pre bw/testing phase. We have had children in the past, but mu DH had a rare type of stroke 2 yrs ago. They think this could have jacked up his pituitary gland thus resulting in the zero count. A little inconclusive though as they never tested for blockage. He does have normal FSH,LH etc. but slightly low testosterone. I guess the fact is that whatever the prob it can't easily/quickly be fixed so we will head into IVF/ICSI/TESE just as you are. My story is a little long so i will let you click to read my journey if you want the whole deal. I would love to keep track of you to see how it works out for us both.

Cindy- just read your journey. So Sorry your cycle was cancelled. I am glad you you are feeling better though. I agree getting the 2 docs on the same page is a good plan. It does sometimes feel like they are so seperate even while working on the same project. Wishing you so much good luck for the next go at it.

Hi cindy, we are also going to be doing ivf-icsi-tese. My dh has very low count low volume, low morph, low motility, high dna fragmentation, low testosterone, high FSH. Plus I have endo and pcos. So can understand how your feeling right now. We are currently preparing for a sa/trail wash for 2morro morning, so fingers crossed theres at least some form of improvement....

Thank you Nightowl. This journey for us has been very disappointing. First my husband was diagnosted with azoospermia and our only option to conveive is IVF/ICSI/TESE. Then as I start IVF, my body is responding poorly. I will post our update after our appointment today. I hate this waiting game....It's rough, but I am willing to get the meds right so we get what we need. My husband has great labs, but a high FSH 23.3. High fructose, large volume, they ruled out chromosome issue and every other possible issue. It's hard on him since we haven't gotten to his process yet because of me. So we still have no idea if he has sperm. We have a back up donor ready and picked out.

What only kills is makes us stronger. Thank you all for your support!

Cindy-hope your appt. went well. The waiting does bite. It seems like every little step involves waiting.I'm waiting on the doc to call. They are waiting on FSH results from my local lab before scheduling the required sonohysterograpy and trial transfer. Said if no show by tomorrow they will call to check and let me know. If it takes too long I think we have to wait until next cycle to do the testing.

So your doc is doing your half of the treatment 1st. Ours is having me do all the requisite tests to be prepared, but then they will do DH's biopsy to make sure sperm are found. I guess they don't want me to do all the meds if there are no little guys hiding out. I know it is stressful just wandering about it. Sounds like you are prepared. Keep us in the know.

The 3 of us will have to keep track of how this whole process plays out. Glad to have found others with a similar trouble.

Well our test didnt happen. We just couldnt get the sample, its a loooonnnnnnnggggggg story But now we have to wait till 10th July for an appt to do it again Im so not happy

The moment of truth finally got here this weekend. I had another IVF cycle that they went through with. My husband has his TESE surgery and they were unable to find any sperm. The lab spent 10 hours on it. We are OK, we had a donor back up. We had it picked out for a very long time, so we feel really good about it. Today is my transfer. Getting excited...

Awe Im so ssorry they didnt find any sperm but so glad that you guys had a donor picked out and on stand by so that you can continue with the IVF. I'll be praying that all goes well for you. Keep me posted...

As for me well we see our RE on friday and hopefully this time around we will get a rough start date. As some thingsa have happened and changed since I last posted here. Maine things are:

The SA didnt get done and we decided to just go straight to TESE

We got knocked back on a start date at our last RE appt coz the cheaper clinic we wanted to go thru had a BMI limit which I was over. So Ive spent the last few months trying to get my bmi done but as soon as I lose weight it seems to come straight back.

We have now decided that we want to go thru our current expensive clinic as we have found that it has a higher success rate and no bmi limit. But we can only afford one go thru them so we are hoping that we get it first go or get frosties. If not then we will need to go thru the cheaper place.

Oh and now my body has decided it isnt going to absorb iron so I have to have some tests done and an iron infussion (Ive had one once before) BUt atm my levels are high enough to do ivf and if need be they tell me a iron infussion is safe to have thru preg if we get preg and the need arises.

Thers so much more but I dont want to take up your whole post. But all my updates are on my journey

Jewels ~ Sounds like you have a lot going on, but sounds like things are coming together. This whole process is so long, but it's all worth it in the end. I wish you all the luck. When you say the SA didn't get done, did they not test his sperm at all?
