would this cause m/c?

July 16, 2008

My husband is on embrial. I have had 2 m/c in the past year. Could him taking embrial cause me to have these m/c?

July 16, 2008

In my opinion I dont think so, but its possible.

Lots of times its just a defect in the chromosomes which cause us to miscarry early, and others are lining problems and it not holding on well, or other problems, but never heard of it being a problem with something the male is doing, but I totally could be wrong, as I dont know what embrial is.

I had a miscarriage in January and was 5weeks, and I just think it was due to late implantation and stuff, but who knows.

Im so sorry for your losses and wishing you a successful pregnancy soon!

Hi Nicki...embrial is a med for arthis right? Has your dh got his sperm checked and hormone levels checked. Also have you spoken to your dr about miscarriage workup on yourself Nicki.

Hi Jolene I hope all is well with the growing belly yes male sperm can cause miscarriage...they DNA factors also:)))

it can be used for arthritis but he takes it for psyrisis (extremeley dry skin) He has not gotten any tests yet. Ive been to two different docs and they wont do any tests on me or my husband until i have 3 m/cs :(

July 16, 2008

Sorry for your losses Niki :( It is so unfair & frustrating that they can deny you the test! Is this your reg OB docs & if so can you change to an RE?

July 16, 2008

Well the doc i am going to now has worked as a re as well. Me and my husband both really like this doc...he is really good and he acts like he cares. He is keeping an eye on me. I have another u/s on the 24th...just to be sure everything is ok. (I had a large cyst before). I dont really have a problem getting preggo its just keeping the baby is what I have a problem with and i dont know what could be the cause of it. I know the second pregnancy was a blighted ovum. The first pregnancy was gone by the time I had an u/s.

You can always ask for a sperm anaylsis on hubby. That will tell if his swimmers are of good count and in good shape or not.

Wishing you the best!

Hi Nicki I don't think it would cause any problem. I would like to get one of the dr's opinions on this one. Now he can get his sperm check via his g/p or a specialist. You can always (and as your rights) just move on to a RE.

Now I have a list of meds via dr's Rx that can cause issues with sperm. But I think you need to move to a dr that will help you and him out. So sorry for your loss.
