My DH and I have been trying to conceve for a over two years now. My dh had a sa and his results were consistant with normal fertilization, been that his sperm was enough for me to become pregnant. Everything was ok with me except I was not ovulating reguarly. I have had regular 31 day cycles for quite some time now but my last two cycles have been only 21 days long which I cannot understand why. The last two 21 day cycles I have had a full 5 day period. Can taking clomid help make my cycle longer than 21 days to enable me to conceive? Another question is: If I have a 21 day cycle, when would I have ovulated? They say that your af arrives 14 days after ovulation, so I would have ovulated on cd 8. Is this correct?

I'll give you my thoughts and I'm sure you will hear from others as well. I have been taking clomid for 3 cycles and it did make my cycle longer and even more consistent. My cycle was anywhere from 25-28 days, now that I'm on clomid it is always 30 days. Taking clomid also made my ovulation come a few days later. yes, one usually ovulates about 14 days after AF, I used to ovulate on cd11 or 12 and now it is cd14 and then af comes 16 days later. If you are not using ovulation predictor kits (OPK) you may want to now that you will be taking clomid since your cycle can change. You don't want to miss the fertile days. I hope this helped, I wish you lots of luck!!!!
