Hi I had a iui/injection cycle cancelled and are now waiting for Af. My Dr is then going to put me on contraceptive pill for a few weeks to suppress ovulation.what are the reasons for this? I will be having an U/S CD1 as well. thanks

I would like to know also, mine automatically put me on bcp after injectable cycle without even checking for cysts and after a month of bcp I would have a cyst and have to do another month, so i could only do inj cycles every 3 months...so frusterating.

I notice this moreso after IVF, in which high doses of injectable gonadotropins are used... the ovaries appear "tired" immediately after treatment (ie, not many antral follicles seen). The thought some may use bcps is to allow the ovaries to "recover" after strong stims using injectable gonadotropins... Whether this truly helps or not is a different issues
