hi dr

please could you tell me why my re has recommened me to take babie asprin as soon as a pregnancy commences.

i dont understand because i am quite fertile even though im 37 but as soon as i do a pregnancy test a couple of days later its a + then i loose the babie so i can not understand why i have to take it when i become pregnant and not before.

surely if this is happing before i take babie asprin i should take it before i get pregnant.

i have an apointment with re 20 jan 09 and will ask why i have been tested for all kinds a problems and they have all come back good just waiting on dh sperm count which will know this month.

i can get pregnant easily but i have lost 2 babies both at 5 wks but have 3 girls from a previous realationship.

Different Drs. will have different preferences on when they prescribe the baby aspirin, and usually the baby aspirin is prescribed to help prevent miscarriages.

But when i become pregnant i do a pregnancey test and shows + then its too late to take babie asprin because i loose the babie a couple of days later.

tammy- sometimes it is prescribed for clotting issues...but i am sure your doctor would be willing to answer your question before jan 20th if you put in a phone call and ask

kristi from this site and i were just talking about this - i thought you were to take the baby aspirin to help make the lining thicker since the blood is thinner and can do what it needs to do for the lining but her RE has told her to take it all the time, even after ovulation and now that she is preggo she was told to continue it as well.

She would be happy to tell you about what her doc has said i am sure.

You would need to take it the whole cycle not just after the +pregnancy test i assume. Kristi said her RE said it can help with m/c as well as the lining.

i was told to take it as soon as a pregnancy starts and then all the way through my pregnancy.its so hard to phone my re as he is always out of the ofice so i guess i will have to wait till i visit on 20 jan its so frustrating as i am about to get my positive ovulation its there but not quite. i am so scared to become pregnant as dh results on sperm check are with the re and wont know till 20 jan i want to know all is well before i become pregnant i have had loads of tests done the last ones were hormone tests they all come back good so i really dont know.

i have no clotting issues as ive been checked for all that but am to take babie asprin as i said before. the thing that worries me is when iam late for af i am pregnant then 2-3 days later i start bleeding and ends in miscarrage this is why i carnt understand why i have to take it as soon as i become pregnant and not before but will ask at my next appointment.
