Why does it say not to take Estrace if pregnant?

My RE put me on Estrogen(Estrace)for my lining but I noticed on the bottle and when I looked it up online it says do not take if you are planning on becoming pregnant or are pregnant. My RE said I would be taking it into pregnancy but when reading about it it says it can cause birth defects. I'm really confused.

Many REs do give Estrace and other Estrogen products, knowing that the risks to the fetus are almost negligeable
