Why do IVF cycles fail?

Once the fertilized embryos are transferred, they still have to implant and grow. And more often than not, they don't.

Nancy, I would search the previous threads about this. From what I have read here & other places, it has a 50-70% of success. So, in my mind it is a success more than a failure! To know why it didnt work for someone, you would need to know what the issues were. Good Luck!

It does have a much higher success rate. IUI is 8-12% on average with one follicle and higher if more follicles are present. No higher than 20-25% on IUI. IVF has a success rate, according to my clinic of 40-50%. If you are using donor eggs it is even higher in my case anyways. IUI success rates decrease quite a lot after the 3rd unsuccessful attempt.
