Which tests should I have done next if I have stopped having a period?

I am a 20 year old female that came off of birth control in April 2008 after approx. 1 year of being on it and having complications (fatigue, tingling in the legs, irregular bleeding). By July of 2008 my period (always regular since I was 13) was nearly 2 weeks late. I had some testing and an ultrasound done that discovered a cyst and slightly elevated testosterone. I have changed my diet and exercise regularly (swimming usually, nothing extreme) My last period dates were:

July 1

Aug 2

Sep 1

Oct 1

Nov 1

Nothing at all since. I have a lot of clear discharge, which makes me think I have started my period because I constantly feel "wet". It does not smell, itch, or burn. I am bloated, have terrible, embarrassing gas, and negative pregnancy tests. Yesterday I started experiencing minor pains in my right abdomen, as if I pulled a muscle. I did have another cyst (4 cm complex) in October 2008, but bloodwork and an ultrasound Nov. 12th 2008 showed it to be gone and my hormones normal.

I have consulted with a local doctor and am frustrated. I hope to have another ultrasound soon to determine if it is yet another cyst, although my last cyst was more painful and I still had a period. What other tests should I ask for? What could cause almost 3 missed periods and constant cramping?

Could it be my pituitary gland? My thyroid is fine, that has been tested. And stress is not the cause either. I've experienced much worse and always had my period.

Any help you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.

An Amenorrhea work-up is that of TSH and Prolactin that is the testing that should be done. Many things can cause Amenorrhea, from PCOS, to being athletic... Women get cysts all the time, and if not on meds, this may not be the problem. Get checked out for these issues and regardless, if you're ttc, you need help to ovulate with meds.. If not ttc, then birth control pills if none of the above should be given for bone health at a minimum
