Hi, I took Mucinex for 10 days just prior to ovulation... so if you ovulate on CD14 than start on CD 4 and take it through CD 14 then stop. Good luck!

I just started taking Mucinex.. I started on CD 6

and will take until the day after I ovulate.

Yes, its the medicine over the counter and you can get it in a syrup form, BUT I take it in a pill form 600mg-

BUT you MUST get the kind that has the active incredient GUAIFENESIN

I bought the extended release kind

This can be found in your local drug stores

It is supposed to help "loosen" mucus in the chest- But women TTC use it to help "loosen" cervical Mucus

Thanks ladies.. I wouldn't think that Mucinex would actually help the cervical mucus. So you start taking it cd 10? How much times a day?

Take it as directed on the package. They actually have a strong 12 hour one that has 1200mg of Guaifenesin so you don't have to take it as often. I took it too and have hear of others doing the same.I also noticed that there are store brands that do have the same ingredient but none that are as strong as 1200mg. I decided to pay the extra for the Mucinex but if you take the store brand more often you should be fine. Good luck!!

Did it work for you? I mean did you have more cm? So you took it every 12 hours?

Hi Raenathan, I saw a pretty significant difference in the amount of CM when I took the Mucinex. I also happened to conceieve the cycle that I used it. May be coincidence, or it might work....worth a try!

I am taking the 1200mg of it (2 pills each 600mg)

Also started baby asprin, once a day!

yes, I took 1200mg at 8am and 8pm

I also took mucinex 1200mg 2x a day, saw significant difference in cm (even hubby noticed)... i also happened to concieve that cycle. :)

today is cd7, and my last clomid dose was yesterday. I started mucinex 1200 today. Im suppose to take just one 1200 mg pill a day right?

Like most say in the post, you are fine to start it on CD6, most women did. I did mine CD1 until ovulation.

For some reason I thouht I did 1200 twice a day, but I cant remember. I did the 12hour ones extra strength, so yeah im pretty sure I did 1200 every 12hours, so 1200 twice a day.

But if your not taking Clomid, then I think you are fine to take 600 twice a day.
