When is the most optimal day to conceive?

July 14, 2008

My ovulation test result is positive today at 3pm.

I heard the advice of trying 2 days before ovulation and on the day of ovulation and so on. We've been trying for a year without success. My husband's sperm test result says only 28% was normal. So I wanted to try to conceive on the most optimal day. When do you think is the best time? Should I wait 24 hours for ovulation to happen?

Welcome Stephanie,

If you've been ttc for a year, also best to get a fertility check-up by your doc to make sure things are ok

Yes, I'm waiting for a referral letter to a fertility clinic to arrive. It's taking so long, so we decided to give another go this month before we get to see a doctor finally.

Hi Stephanie:

Has your husband seen a urologist to discuss his sperm values? My husband also has sperm issues and we are now seeing an RE. If you want to have children as soon as possible, I urge you to pursue this with as many doctors as you can (urologist, RE, etc.)

Good luck!
