Melissa - that is funny you asked this. I am NOT currently pregnant... but am desperately trying. My aunt had a bed and breakfast and is selling it. Last weekend she sold all the contents. I bought a couch for 100 bucks AND a baby crib for 50! I don't know... I take it as a good sign that it will happen for me this month. But I just couldnt pass it up, its a beautiful crib and cheap. So... I say, too early isn't an option :) Ha! Of course, you don't want to jinx yourself either. So, do what your heart tells you.

So I am gonna start buying stuff this weekend..I am 20 weeks and having girls..Would you all start buying stuff now..Mostly i am gonna buy the bottles because I want the Dr Browns Colic bottles and they are expensive so i am gonna buy all the feeding stuff this weekend for the babies..Any advice thanks

I have bought just a few things, and that is 12 onesies. They are super cute, and I couldnt resist...haha. Im getting tons of stuff passed down from my good friends, including the Dr. Browns bottles. Im super excited. If we have a boy we are soo set, cause 3 of our good friends all have boys under the age of 2, one is 1 1/2, one is 7mths, other will be born this weekend or next week. So we are getting TONS of stuff from them if its a boy.

If its a girl we will get tons of stuff from another couples sets of friends. My Parents and hubbies parents are doing the room and furniture, so thats taken care of and toys and stuff, so we are truely blessed :)

Jolene that is great. I am doing Dr. Brown's bottle too..aren't they so great my cousin used them with his two sons..bthe said that they are a pain to clean because they have some kind of tubes in them on the inside...my friend said she caught hell cleaning hers too..I was impressed by them though so i am gonna get all the feeding stuff tonight..I want to reduce colic at any cost..can't have two babies at the same time with colic..LOL

Well, our entire nursery is pretty much finished. And I'm not pregnant yet. My husband painted it yellow with white chair rails back in January, and we have a crib, dresser, and changing table. So I say go for it! It's nice that our stuff is already paid off, Plus, it's not possible to "jinx" yourself, and you'll be more prepared. Good luck!

the dr brown bottles do have this weird straw type thing inside the bottle and then a round circle at the top made of plastic. I had a ton of them here that i gave away cuz they looked like a pain to clean! lol!

I used the playtex bottles when my kids and i plan to use them again cuz i love that the bag doesnt give them any air - they arent very earth friendly but whatcha gonna do?!?!?

I have some maternity jeans that i bought on clearance the other day that are just so comfy that i love wearing them, they just have a belt band on the top instead of the big belly thing so its nice at this point - im almost 7 weeks now :)

Im bloated and yuck so most of my pants dont feel good. I would love to buy a bunch of baby stuff however, i change my mind soooo very often that i would end up returning something all the time! lol!

just a thot, when yall get baby clothes, dont get too many newborn. I got a ton and shes already outgrown them 2 weeks after birth. I would say go with 0-3 months clothes rather than newborns..

Jolene u lucky gurl :)

Summer After too much research abt colic, BPA free plastic etc (my husbands obsessed) we went with the BornFree BPA free bottles. It has the vent system that is super easy to clean and so far the baby has not gulped in air *knock knock* the flow is very slow like the breast as well.

I have heard great things abt Dr Brows that was what we bot originally, but becuase of the negative press on BPA we returned it.

But now, Dr browns have their own BPA free bottles. Its too late for us :( we already have 4 bottles and the baby likes it so we aint changing.

They have a 4 Oz bottle for newborns-6 months but thats so out of stock every where. The have the larger ones thats for bigger kids. Place an order for 4 Oz ones now so that ull have it in time.

June 13, 2008

hey hope, if i am gonna use the playtex drop ins would they have the BPA in the drop in or the nipple?

June 13, 2008

Hey Chels, any silicone nipples are BPA safe.

The disposable liners are bisphenol-A free.

June 13, 2008

*Silicone nipples are BPA free

June 13, 2008

only the silicon nipples are the clear ones? i always used the brown ones that were square in shape - they may not even make those anymore lol!

June 13, 2008

lol i used the brown ones too..

im not sure abtthose if the rubber ones(brown??) can be sterlized n stuff. the hospital gave us brown nipples n they said its 1 time use..

the white silicone ones r BPA free though.

June 13, 2008

u wont miss the silicone ones..its all over the baby prod aisle clearly marked as Silicone. playtex would have one for their nurser as well

June 13, 2008

im sure i'll just get the clear ones - they look cleaner anyway! I think the brown ones were brown and sqaure to trick the baby into thinking it was the nipple, as if our nipples are square! lol!

We bought our crib when I was in my 18th week. This is our first baby and we had no clue where to even start so that might have been why we didnt buy anything earlier. I did buy a few onesies from old navy at about 16 weeks. Then at 20 weeks when we found out it's a boy I have been shopping ever since and cant stop!
