when is it ok to start sharing the good news?

what i mean is, is it ok to start telling people that i'm pregnat at 6-7 weeks? I just did another preg test and the second line keeps getting darker and darker, is that a good sign?

As a rule of thumb, best to wait until the end of the first trimester

It is a good sign it keeps getting darker, and honestly I think you should tell people whenever you want to. I look at it like this, if you tell people and the pregnancy sticks..awesome! If you tell people and it doesn't (God forbid) then you'll have lots of support to help you through it. It's a personal choice and there's no right or wrong answer here :) Congrats!!!

i agree with sar...my rule was that i told people that i would tell if i had a m/c...but i wouldn't tell your work, etc until end of the first tri (13 weeks or so!)

Unless you have a history of recurrent miscarriage you can tell people anytime you want to. I told everyone the day I found out. I was always too excited to keep the news quiet. Most everyone I know would give out the news right away. You should do what you want. Is this a first pregnancy or have you had any problems in the past?

I agree with Sar! We have been trying for so long we are not gonna be able to hold it in when we get our BFP LOL. Like Sar said, if something does go wrong, you'll have lots of support.

I think it is a personal choice. We did it sections. Like we told people very close to us right away, then a few more when we heard the heartbeat and then everyone once we were in out 2nd tri. I kind of went with the idea that if something did happen or was wrong who and how many people could I actually tell. It is a hard decision. Good luck and congrats!

thanks ladies, well it looks like everyone knows because of one of the ladies at work, I have no idea on how she found out but now everyone knows
