When does the baby usually drop?

Hey Fran,

The Dr found the baby head down and in position at 34 W. Not engaged to the Pelvis, but right down and she said the baby cant turn anymore once shes head down coz of the size. This was at 34 W for me :) Then Week 36 she was way down and me dialated.

But I swear the drop happened sooner at around 30W because I could always feel the babys bottom above the belly button since Week 30. Whenz ur 34th week appt? Ask ur Dr to feel the baby's head and ask where are the hands and legs and back. Mine wouldnt do at 32 W inspite of asking many times.

Thanks Hope! My doc is refusing to touch my stomach much until her can do an internal. I guess he is afraid of causing cramps and then labor. :) I just wondered b/c I looked at myself this morning and I look super super low now! I have my 36 week appointment the 19th so I guess I'll wait until then.

OMG our Drs are so similar she refused to feel the tummy..But me..when I sleep on the sides, its literally 1/4 of the tummy gets squished. :)) Do u feel the babys parts? Esp when it moves. thats how I figured out, I would feel a round thingy all the time to the left of the belly butt below the ribs. I didnt know if it was the head or butt..

but now..I feel the baby's back very clearly. Its long and the size of ur palm (more or less) and then follow the direction to the other side of the tummy u can feel the knees folded and then again up on the ribs on the other side I feel the legs :) I never knew I would be one of those women who get lucky to feel the parts..I never felt the head though coz its way way down..

ANother thing is dh couldnt tell the difference, but my mom, and a few other older moms would tell me Im way way low. Its funny u ask, yesterday I was at icecream place and everyone would go are u due anyday ur tummy is so low. Wonder how they figure that out

That's funny......I've been having people ask me for the last 3 weeks when I was going to labor!! :) I was like sorry 10 weeks, 9 weeks, etc! :)

I can't feel too much but I swear that I keep feeling either a knee or elbow on my right side. It is always sharp and it sticks out a lot. I guess I will have to pay more attention and then maybe I can figure out all about him!

I will see my mom in a week and 1/2 so maybe she will be able to tell me if I look lower. I want to take pics and compare. That would help too.
