Wow, that was brief but concise...you answered my question straight to the point. Thank you very much! :-)
When does breast tenderness occur?
July 18, 2007
On cycle day 28 (July 8th) of my last cycle, I started to have breast tenderness, and then on July 9th, I had an ultrasound. (The ultrasound was actually meant to follow up the hemorrhagic cyst they found in my right ovary last June 7 and not because I took Clomid on that cycle.) Anyway, when I was told that I had a "corpus luteum" in my right ovary during my ultrasound, it confirmed that the hemorrhagic cyst from last month resolved on its own, and that I have ovulated on that cycle with Clomid 50 mg. From my understanding, the breast tenderness is caused by the progesterone produced by the corpus luteum, so the breast tenderness should happen AFTER the egg has been released--IS THAT CORRECT? When I started to have breast tenderness last July 8th, I thought that the egg has just been released. Since I did not do BBT nor OPKs, I was not able to point out exactly which day I ovulated, and so I presumed I ovulated on July 8th. Then last Saturday, July 14th, my period came, and it puzzled me BIG TIME how it happened because I thought I ovulated on July 8th and that I should get my period at least 14 days AFTER I ovulated.
So, my question is, when does breast tenderness occur? My last period was June 11 and I took Clomid on June 15-19. When I had breast tenderness on July 8th, when do you think I have ovulated?

Hi Chellie,
You can learn much more about the menstrual cycle by finding a post I wrote by searching "pituitary". Once you ovulate, you will get a period about 14 days later, but you must ovulate, otherwise people will be experiencing random breakthrough bleeds. Mittleshmerz is the ovulatory pain your referring to and is perfectly Ok. Good luck, and keep us posted

I guess every cycle is different. On the cycle when I had my chemical pregnancy, I NEVER felt breast tenderness. However, last month, I felt breast tenderness the day AFTER I got my positive OPK, that means, the day after I ovulated. And the tenderness lasted for more than 14 days, so it was a big indication that I was pregnant. But then again, when I got pregnant with my daughter, I never felt any breast tenderness either. So, every cycle indeed is different.
U ovulate 14 days before ur next period start date. U say its June 21. So count 14 days back and thats when ovulation occurs. So, if u had sex that time ur covered. SOmetimes u have sore bbs some time u dnt. Only way is take a test. sore bbs before period due date is of no significance in relation to pregnancy.
