whats next for me after 5 rounds of clomid???

Hi i have been on clomid since october (50mg) this did not make me ovulate so my doctor put me on 100mg for nov, dec, jan , in january i started getting severe pains around my ovaries, my gp then lowered my dose for this cycle to 50mg again i am now 23 days into my cycle and have had my 21day b/w on thursday and will see my gp next week, im not sure if i ovulated this month and im also not sure if he will prescribe any more clomid, i was wondering how long you can be on clomid for and whats next after clomid??
(i will say that i was put on clomid after the depo injection last march07 and my progesterone levels were to low so was not ovulating on my own!)

Tara, Progesterone is created in the body as a result of ovulation. Its present in very very less quantities < 1 ng/ml before ovulation. If u take a blood test 7 days after ovulation and if the progesterone levels are atleast 5 ng/ml or more then it confirms some sort of ovulation. Drs usually want it to be atleast 12-15 ng/ml.

Just wanted to comment about that pais you have... When you take something to ovulate, some or many folicles grow, one, tow or none can open and liverate the egg, but if some of them didn't open, or if some of them opened and left the big empty folicle there, they will keep growing in the next months if you keep taking climid or anything to ovulate, they are like cysts and can give you a lot of pain, and take some time to desapear... That's why it is very important to have ultrasounds right after every cicle, to see if everything is ready to start again, or if there are cysts that need to desapear...
I don't know so much about it, but I was having IUI for 3 months, and every month I had to take clomid AND injectables to ovulate, and at the end of the month, my Dr did ultrasounds and everytime we saw this big folicles, then I had to take birth control pills for 1 month to make them desapear, next month the big folicles were gone and we were ready to start again with the procedure... My Dr. said that if we keep making this folicles grow, it would give me several pain, and it was true, because in my third IUI I got pregnant, so I could not take birth control pills to make this folicles or cysts desapear anymore, and for like 1 month and a half I had bad bad pain because of this big folicles, until they desapeared on their own...

hi just an update my progesterone levels this cycle (without any clomid) was 20 now my doc said this was low but i did ovulate, and i have to do another blood test on 21 day of this cycle, so i was wondering if this was normal and show my progesterone level be any higher?? (my last blood test on clomid 100mg was 110?) thanks xx

I did 6 months of clomid ,ovulated all but one month. I changed Dr's in May, he put me on Femara, I just had a hcg trigger shot on Thursday and had IUI on Friday. This was my 2nd IUI, praying it works this time.

Clomid will not work if you've just come off the Depo-Provera injection, and you have to wait until your body starts to have periods on its own before clomid begins to work...This should happen fairly soon since you've been off depo for almost a year...
You can ovulate with injectable gonadotropins an RE can give you if you want to get started right away...
