What will they do for DH 1st urologist appt?

Dh has his first appointment scheduled with a urologist on October 2nd (of all days our one year anniversary, but thats ok) for an SA.

Will they do the SA that day or will this appointment be just a consultation?

What kind of things do they do on the first visit?

They take a history and whole physical examination. If he hasn't had a semen analysis before, they may ask for one.

They will interpret the results, and if necessary, also request blood work done on your DH

Hi Vanessa,

When my dh went for his 1st visit he did a history and a physical exam and then sent him for a SA. We then returned for the reading of the results and got his recommendations. Good luck and baby dust!

Thank you! I wasnt sure if they were going to make him come back for another appointment to do the SA or not.

How long will DH have to abstain for before his SA? They didnt really explain anything to him when he called to set up the appointment.

My DH was told 3 days. I'm not sure if that is a standard or if that was this clinics policy. Hope you get some answers! Good luck!

HI Vanessa,

Yes it's 3 days! My dh is going for his second sa and they stressed that it is important not to bd etc for 3 days.
