what to do next

We have been trying to conceive now for 12 years,after having our son,we have had sperm tests done 6 yrs ago of which 60% were fine.
August i had bloods done in which i am diabetic and have pcos,and awaiting a scan for this,i have just seen a re and she said there is now reason we should not conceive again beings i am on 1000mg metformin a day and i have lost some weight and hormones ok and carrying on doing so,the re dont want to see me anymore,but how long should i keep waiting for things to happen,im just so fed up with it all.Do i just go back to the doctors in 6 months,a year i dont know.
