What is Lotiony CM?

June 03, 2008

Are we talking about the texture, color, consistency or what?

To be honest, before I joined this site I had no idea that CM played such an important roll in TTC & have learned alot about it from you guys :)My Dr tells me that O'ing late in your cycle can make TTC difficult due to hostile CM-which is very unfortunate for me as I tend to O very late im my cycle when off meds (around CD 40 this time) & around CD19 on them. The RE said they can give me some lub to use while TTC & to avoid store bought brands like KY.

Just trying to pay more attention to my natural production of CM & what it means...Got the stretchy CM down pat & know to look for that but the lotion thing has me thrown. Is it supposed to LOOK like lotion or FEEL like lotion or both?

Thanks ladies! Love ya!

What does Lotiony CM mean?

June 03, 2008

Thanks Caryn! I am just confused. I don't have alot of CM during my cycles so I don't really know what to look for :( I get a really smooth, creamy kind of CM sometimes but is kinda clear-is that the same thing?

Lotion like Cervical Mucus, VanessaM

Yeah I know that, sorry. I meant what does it mean when you have lotiony cm? Is it bad, does it mean that you have already ovulated.. that kinda stuff. It was kind of a misleading question!

That's kinda what I am looking to find out also...Trying to pay attention & not sure what I am looking for & why :)

I am in the same boat!! This whole cm stuff is pretty new to me so I have no idea what I am looking for besides the ewcm for ovulation.

I chart my CM daily and this is how my normal cycle goes: Starts off with dry/no CM, then moves onto like a sticky or crumbly CM, then moves onto lotiony CM, followed a few days later by EWCM, the big O comes then I go back to dry until Auntie Flo comes to visit.

I think the best way to know what it means for you is to chart yours for a few cycles and you should see a pattern. =)

What if you have CM all through your cycle? Sometime I wonder if having had HPV may have messed up my body to where I cant have kids now? Do you think that would have anything to do with it?

June 03, 2008

The presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) by itself should not affect your ability to get pregnant. But in some cases, having HPV can increase your risk of developing precancerous or cancerous cells in your cervix, which could affect both your fertility and your ability to carry a baby to term.

I just pulled that off baby center if that helps. I'd do some research and talk to your doc about it but, CM is different for every woman. Once you start to pay close attention to your own on a daily basis you'll start recognizing things. It is normal for some women to have CM throughout their whole cycle. Give it a try and chart it for two cycles and see if you see a pattern
