What else can a regular OBGYN do????

I stayed with my OBGYN for 3 cycles of Clomid. She told me that she could also do an IUI in her office but I ended up going to an FE because my insurance does cover a good part of it. I'm not sure if all obgyns can do this in office and if they can will they be able to "wash" the sperm. Maybe you can search around for an office that can do that since mine said she could. She said she thought the cost was about $200-$400. I'm in Florida. Lots of luck!!!!

Hey Amanda- I know it is super expensive, but if at all possible I would see an RE- they will get you pregnant as fast as possible...

Mine was on the first try :) After almost a year with my regular GYN :)

Amanda, an ob gyn would be able to perform ultrasounds, tell u how big the follicles are, check if u ovulated, sometimes do the HSG, check the lining, switch u to Femara and even do an IUI. U need to ask her. My Ob gyn offered me all the above including post coital. But she needs to be a real good one in what she does, thats critical.

I know exactly what you are going threw. I went to my gyno and for 3 months she put me on 50mg of clomid. I told her that i was still not ovulating. She said you have to go to an RE, I dont know what else to do with you. I dont have infertility coverage either and we do not have enough money for IVF. My RE put me on 100mg of clomid and I did ovulate. I have been on clomid 100mg for 3 months and nothing. I had an IUI done and it failed. I have been trying to go the cheapest route and try different fertility meds.
