Uterine Lining while taking Clomid

August 11, 2008

My doc prescribed Clomid for me to take whenever I am ready on CD5-9. I have heard that Clomid messes with the lining of the uterus. I forgot to ask if there is anything I can take to help with the lining when I take Clomid. Is there anything over the counter I can take to help with it?

FYI, normally I ovulate on my own but the past 2 cycles I have not. I do not have PCOS. My doc is trying Clomid to give me a boost and to get me back on track.

Hey LauraMarie,

I am going through a chemical right now b/c my lining was thin. the RE thinks he wants to start me on Gonal-F injectables b/c of it. I hope it works for you. Good luck.

Laura- some people say that baby aspirin works...take it once a day from cd 1 until ovulation...i think dr q said that it can help, but only by a couple of mm....

Aww Rae! Im sorry! I was wondering how that went for you. I hope the injections work for you!

Thanks BabyQ. I'll try that. I also think I heard that the lining is not affected until you get to 150mg...I'm not sure where I read that or if it is even true.

i hope thats true! ;) i start 100 mg as soon as i get my damn period! ;) i have never wanted af so badly! ha!

have you guys decided when you are going to start taking it?? i think you are leaning towards earlier, aren't you? ;) december can suddenly seem very far away when you ahve rx in hand! ;)

tamoxifen or letrozole would be a better choice to help with the lining....clomid does have a history of drying you out and decreasing the lining....baby asprin is something that still hasn't been proven in the ttc world....

Oh I know! I got the RX and I was like "Sept sounds good!" LOL. December seems likes decades now. I'll have to talk to DH about it when I get home. We have both been enjoying the stress free month. The only thing I have been keeping up with is what CD I am on and I have always done that, even when not TTC. I haven't mentioned ovulation once and I can tell hubby likes that..he dosn't feel pressured. I'll make a deal with him...if he says ok, I wont mention O to him at all LOL. I'll just jump him every other day LOL

laura - I was worried about m/c when I first found out I was pregnant. My RE prescribed me baby aspirin 81mg (low dosage) to take to help with the thickness of the lining. You can purchase this over the counter. You might want to check with your doctor first before taking it.
