unsure of when to start clomid

i had a D and C 6 weeks ago, i am to start taking clomid this cycle, but i dont know when to start taking it, my gyno told me to take it on day 4 to 7, but i am not sure if i am taking my period yet or not, there is alittle blood on the tissue after i wipe, its been like this on and off for 3 days now, do u think i have to wait for a proper bleed or just go ahead and take clomid in the morning
