Does anyone have a unicornuate uterus & if so have you had problems conceiving

October 22, 2008

Hi. I have a unicornuate uterus. I have an 18 month old daughter. I always had this nagging feeling inside me that I couldn't have kids but all everytime during my yearly checkup I was told there is nothing wrong. One time during a checkup in college I had a doctor say they felt a mass on my left side. They did a sonogram and I heard nothing from it. Fastforward to 2006. I got pregnant on my 2nd month trying so that put to rest some of my concerns that I had an underlying issue. She ended up being breech. They scheduled a c-section for 39 weeks exactly. She was measuring small, my belly never measured up to what it was suppose to be. I went into labor the next day. They thought since she was breech and never changed positions that I had a bicornuate uterus, during the c-section they told my I have a unicornuate uterus with a left non communicating tube with a rudimentary horn. I was told it shouldn't effect my ability to become pregnant, especially since I have already. Obvisouly if you ovulate from an ovary on the side you don't have a tube the likely hood of getting pregnant is diminished. But I think I ovulate more often on the good side. Anyway, sorry for the book. You can get pregnant. I think it depends on which side you are ovulating on, if the egg is implanting on the good side of the uterus. You are at risk for preterm delievery with this condition.
