Hello Dr,
I have had some itching in my pubic area and i cant identify the problem. It almost feels like my hair follicles are irritated in some way, and my skin is sometimes pinkish in the area that itches. The itching seems to be isolated to just where the hair grows. I have experienced this for some time and it seems to come and go. I feel i can rule out any kind of std for in my recent past have had some routine testing that has come back negative. I addressed this issue at one of my obgyn visits quite some time ago, and my dr suggested that maybe it was some kind of reaction to the soap i use. However, i have not changed laundry detergents, and i use aveno body wash which i think is a very mild soap and dermatology recommended. I have also tried applying a mild cortisone cream, and that doesn't seem to help. Can you please make a suggestion on what you think this could possibly be, or what i should do next to remedy this problem. Thank You.
