Unexplained infertility and now IUI!

February 08, 2009

24years old, been trying for 15 months, got pregnant in March 2007 on 50mg of Clomid, but miscarried at 12 weeks. Taking clomid since august, 50mg, 100mg, 100mg, 150mg w/o any luck. February is my first month of 150mg clomid + 75 units Gonal F+ estrogen+ progestron+ IUI. I have unexplained infertility. No PCOS, and my HSG was normal.

I had my first follicle ultrasound yesterday CD 11. The right ovary showed 3 follicles, 13, 12, and 11 mm. And the Left ovary showed another 3 follices, 14, 14, and 13. My doc says they're a little small and to repeat the ultrasound on CD 13. I am scheduled to have another follicle study tomorrow. Hopefully, they grow!

Lots of luck to you!! Sounds like you are getting close. Follies usually grow 1-2mm each day so it looks like you have a few more days of stimulation/meds. ***BABY DUST***

what other meds could they give me beside the HCG trigger shot?

I think the only other thing once you do the trigger could be progesterone (taken in several different forms). Some women are also given low dose asprin but I haven't. good luck, keep us posted

Thanks so much jenstar, I am supposed to start my progestrone after my IUI on thursday!

So I had my second follicle study today, and to my suprise they actually grew! I can't believe it, I thought for sure this month would be a bust. My left size had 3 follicles 17, 15, 14 and I guess some disappeared on the right, I had only 2 left 11, 13. My doc is gonna have me do my trigger shot tomorrow night at 10pm and then thursday morning at 10 I will have my IUI. I keep getting really nervous that with this stimulation I'm gonna get cysts on my ovaries because every time they do an ultrasound they keep telling me, "oh you have alot of little immature follicles" I keep thinking, please stay little follicles and don't turn into cysts.

**~~~BABY DUST~~~** to everyone trying!

OMG, those are alot of follies, were you able to produce that many with the first 3 IUIs? Why do you think the first 3 IUI's weren't successful?

Sounds great Lex, wishing you lots of luck!!! Wish we all knew why the IUIs don't always work, I have had 4 and 1 IVF. Gotta keep on trying :O)

Chels, wishing you a great 2ww and hoping this is the one that sticks!!!!
