what are the statistics for unexplained infertility and when do you reach that point? how many months do you have to "try" and "fail" with all test results OK, before you are classified as unexplained?
Unexplained Infertility

My husband and I have been TTC since Oct 06. In June we were refered to an RE. At that time I had an HCG which indicated there were no blockages and bloodwork did determine I was ovulating on my own. My husband has also had a semen analysis that showed everything was normal with him. I am now starting my second cycle with Clomid (days 5-9) and IUI. I am currently using 100mg of Clomid since I do ovulate. I have regular cycles lasting 28-30 days. Based upon my BBT charts, I ovulated last month 4 days after my Ovidrel shot. What should be my next step? Should I continue with the Clomid regimine, should dosage be increased? Should I start considering IVF?

Thank you very much for using our site and am hopeful you've found out pregnancy rates regarding unexplained infertility. You're very young and your prognosis remains excellent and it really comes down to...how soon do you wish to achieve a pregnancy. You can continue with Clomid and people do get pregnant though this. IVF does give almost instant satisfaction with high pregnancy rates and do have patients who simply come in to do IVF because they don't want to deal and/or go through the emotional rollercoaster of trying to get pregnant with other methods that provide lower pregnancy rates. The decision is yours to make having all the information at hand for "unexplained infertility" and if you continue being on Clomid, 100mg is ok. If unaware of pregnancy rates for unexplained infertility, you can search for these on this site. We welcome you to FertilityTies and thank you for choosing to participate in our little community
