i hope u get ur miracle! y didnt u respond to the clomid? what is follistism? u do it with clomid? so i take it u just didnt create any follicles when u took the clomid? im curious about ur story... and i will pray for you that u get the answers and the results you are looking for ++++ =) good luck

DR said my estrogen was too low to respond to the clomid, I guess. Sometimes when the DR gives me an explanation--- I still don't understand and walk out stratching my head. I never had any follicles with clomid so follistim is an injectable which is more likely to get my ovaries to do something! Tuesday is an ultrasound / BW to make sure I can start the cycle... yay!

Hope the clomid works for you... it didn't for me the first cycle but my DR is trying it one more time. I heard if you take robitussin a couple times a day during a clomid cycle it will improve your CM. Just make sure it is plain robitussion not the CF or DM type.

I too have PCOS and it is such a pain. I am on my 4th round of Femara and on Friday I had the hcg shot to trigger my ovulation. I had to take Prometrium to start my cycles after i got off of the pill but without it I never started naturally until the RE put me on Metformin. I started my period within the first week of taking it and it has worked every month since. The side effects are harsh on the stomach but they have eased with time for me. I at least know that I will get AF and even on time with this medication. Have you tried this med yet?

My fasting glucose levels didn't warrant taking metformin, so I've never tried it. Many of my friends have been on it and it has always helped. I wish there was something that could help regulate my non-exsistant cycles! ughhhh!

On the up side... I am starting clomid tonight and this weekend I will begin the follistim injectibles. I went for my us/bw today and everything, although very low, is all set for a cycle to begin!

I did not have high glucose levels either but my RE tried me on Metformin anyway and it worked so i just wanted to let you know. Good luck on your Clomid round i am sending lots of babydust your way!!!Let me know about taking the injectables we haven't tried that so if this month doesn't work i will go that way.

Hell! Had my US this morning and BW... My levels are still lower than they should for only having one more day of clomid left. On my ultrasound I have many small follicles but my largest was 8. My lining was at 6.5 (the nurse said they like it at 10 for IUI). Good thing is I still have one more day of clomid, so there is still room for improvement. I start the injectible follistim tomorrow and on the 10th I go in and they will tell me how my little follicles are doing again! I was very happy when I left the appt today because the nurse sounded very hopeful. She said since I am still early in my cycle there was a good chance things are starting to work. But when they called to give me my lab results, she didn't sound as hopeful.

I am staying positive because I know this is a great cycle and we will all have lots of good luck this time around!

Hello! Started the injectible medication today. Alittle crampy, and I hope that means it is working. Other than that nothing to report. Weds. I go in again. My estrogen level was only at a 42 on Saturday (my nurse told me today). That is pretty low, so I guess that means the clomid didnt work again.

I know the injectibles will do the trick!!! So at least this wont be a lost cycle! +++++++++

You are right missy. and you never know the clomid may have worked. lots of women think it failed b/c the progesterone or estrogen levels were not 'high' enough according to Drs... but they ended up pregnant anyways, so dont throw the possiblity out the window, u never know!

adn ur right the injectibles will do the trick. so no need to worry, ur time is coming =)

Here is an update... I have three follicles all three at 16.5. I take one more day of the follistim injections and then a shot of the ovidrel. On MOnday I am scehduled for the IUI. I am praying everything will be all set for Monday!!! Then we wait.... and hope for a +++++!!! E2 was at 335 and my lining is at 10.

Good luck missy u will get it =) i saw my follicles on the screen today... i had like 6 in each ovary it looked like. only like 2 were big looking. The Dr said they were too small for cd 12 and i most likely will not ovulate this cycle. which sucks! but some women say they had small follies too.. and just ovulated real late in their cycle. Im praying for that.

Also they said I may have a subseptate uterus, which may need fixed before i get pregnant, but isnt a huge concern...

so idk what to think

Jennifer, the good news you had some follicles. They might not be that big but with time and probably some more meds they will get there!! It will happen... What is a subseptate uterus? I've never heard of that... Keep me posted... You may have a longer cycle, so there is still hope!!

Yea I know! =) I prayed for late ovulation so maybe thats what I'll get! The Dr was going off the "text book" answers and studies, he said my follicles are too small to make me O this cycle, but he was expecting me to O around cd14, which would be today. BUT if Im a late Oer and I dont O until this time next week then of course my follies would still be small! lol. I think I WILL Ovulate and this is just gods way of helping me =)

I must admit tho, i dont know if its due to the fact that you are in Europe or what... but I have a hard time understanding the details of ur situation and ur cycle. You mentioned injectibles and somthing else... and I have to say Im confused and having trouble invisioning exactly what you are doing this cycle to try to get pregnant. you are doing more than jsut clomid right?

A subseptate uterus is where... When I was a fetus myself, and my uterus was forming, it formed slightly different shape then the normal uterus. It has a slight dip in the top of it instead of being normally round shaped or whatever. So my uterus looks like a heart, where yours looks like a oval or a cirle. If the dip in the top is really bad they will have to do procedure to fix it, b/c it can cause m/c and other complications, or it could even cause a breech baby, the baby would sit sideways in the womb the whole time due to the funny shaped uterus.

LOL I just say Im so full of LOVE that even my uterus is shaped like a heart =)

But they dont know if its even that bad, he said if its not too bad then they just let it go and its no biggie. In fact A LOT of women (ive been researching this) have subseptate uterus' and never even know it, and they have babies all the time. One women never knew hers was subseptate until her 2nd child when she had to have a C-section and the Dr saw her uterus during surgery. HAHA. so it might not even be a big deal. Please pray for me that it will be OK. Im keeping my spirits up I refuse to get down hearted again =)

Hi jennifer, I am actually from the US--- Rhode Island exactly. I am taking an injectible fetility med called follistim. It is a very common drug for women who don't respond to clomid. I take a shot everynight in my abdomen. Injectibles are the next step if clomid does not make you ovulate. Many women with PCOS do not respond to clomid because their estrogen is just too low. I am one of those people.

This cycle my DR tried clomid one last time just to make sure the first time it failed wasnt a fluke. But after the 5 days of meds my only follicle was at 8--- way too small. So, not wasting a cycle, she started me on these injectibles. The injectibles pump the hormone right into you so the chances of growing follicles are higher. (or at least it was for me).

So now I have three follicles... I took the ovidrel shot last night which will make me ovulate in 36 hours. So I have a busy couple of days ahead of me with my hubby!!!

Look up follistim, because this may be something you want to ask your DR about. It is more expensive--- but it has less side effects and from my experience works quicker.

I failed on 150mg of clomid---- I know your dosage was much lower, so your DR will probably just up the dosage next cycle hoping that will do the trick. But if it doesn't ask about follistim.

Don't worry you will O--- your body is just taking some time to figure out when!!! :) +++++

AW thanks. I love when ppl give me hope like that =) in the back of my mind Im worrying and going over everything five times over LOL then you guys say dont worry it will happen, and idk i just... believe you =) I guess thats what we have to do right....? BELIEVE.

I will ask about follistim (is that right? foll-ist-im? I keep wanting to say foll-it-ism... idk why lol) but i think i will give clomid a couple more cycles to try and work b/c I had quite a few follicles in each ovary and I think my body will react OK to the clomid...

You should try IUI with everything else that you're doing, it helps the sperm and gives them SUCH a better head start.

OHH get it girl, you've got the next couple days to BD =) you're time is filled up! haha better call off work and lock the doors and light some candles! LOL Good luck Im sure you'll hit that egg (or eggs) =)

Went in for an IUI this morning. It was very uncomfortable. I was nervous so I guess that didn't help. But my husband's count was good so now I wait for 2 weeks until I can take a test. I don't think I will be able to wait, but I guess you need to wait to get the trigger shot, ovidrel, out of your system first.

So MANY people ovulate with clomid so the odds are in your favor!!! I heard the 3rd cycle is usually the sucess story winner. My friend got preggers on her third cycle with clomid, but she did it with IUI, too. There are so many options out there for people like us, so we can't give up hope!!

Just think of it this way--- you probably didnt ovulate this time because God knew your hubby wouldnt be back in time, so he figured hed give you until next month so you are relaxed and can enjoy!!

So now you are waiting for AF or maybe late ovulation...
