I have lost a total of 157lbs since January 2007. My husband and I have been trying without success to conceive for 5 years. My Dr is sending me to see Dr Anne Wold at the Reproductive Science Center in Providence RI in December. My question is what kind of ferility treatment can we expect we will be offered if I have PCOS and don't ovulate and my husband has ED and Low Testosterone Levels. How will we get pregnant? Please include details as this is our first time.

Thank You

Jade

You should be given options as to what kinds of treatmets you wish to receive given PCOS, and you choose which you desire unless you're over 37 when REs start getting aggressive for the patients sake...

You may be given metformin + Clomid, or Injectable Gonadotropins and even offered IVF...If the sperm count is low, then IVF+ICSI will be highly recommended, unless hCG or clomid is given to him to increase his Testoerone levels and Sperm count also. For ED, simple use of Viagra types of medications will help out tremendously...

Good luck, and keep us posted....

Well I have not seen the RE yet. I have been on 2000mg of metformin a day for 2 years now. Do you think she will probably add the clomid with the metformin. We have not had any of the invasive testing done yet we are in the very beginning stages, My partner and I have both had bloodwork done to check hormone levels and I had a transvaginal US done last night. The report stated both of my ovaries are polycystic and should be confirmed with biochemical testing. I am only 28 and my husband is 34 so we are still fairly young. What do you think course of treatment will most likely be? I am very anxious to get pregnant. What typically is the first test excluding US and bloodwork?

Thank You

If you're under 37y/o, it'll be up to you to decide what treatment is best for you when considering $ amts.

So what is the first test exculding bloodwork and US? Is it HSG or Lap or something else? I am also very confused about how Clomid and when to take it if I don't have regular periods. Like for instance I have not had a period now since September 24 2007. How does that work?
