TTC for 4 months now...

July 12, 2008

I'm a 21 year old mother of one beautiful 8 month old little boy and recently married. Getting pregnant so early and marriage wasn't what I thought would be part of the plan but here we are and I can't think of any better life I would be living than the one I do now. My mother and i just opened a progressive thinking childcare facility in Portland, Oregon and couldn't be busier. Seems we've found the right business to be in. My husband and I desperately want our children to be close in age and are trying for our # 2. Seems we're a bit stuck... been trying for 4 months now without much success. My body seems as if it's still adjusting from my first child and isn't telling me the right information from the signs I'm seeing. We hope to get that BFP soon!

honestly 4 months ttc is not long at all. I know it may seem like it but hang in there. Maybe your just not timing sex right. try using OPK's or an ovulation monitor. Im going on my 3rd month TTC #3 and it seems like it's taking forever already but i know it will happen soon:)

Hi Naketa, welcome :)

I agree, try using OPK's, they are great for telling you when you're ovulating so you can time bd'ing just right.

Congrats on both your recent marriage your baby boy :)

Hello,

definitely try using OPKs if you aren't already. Dr. says that it can take most couples up to a year to get preggo. Some couples are very lucky when it happens sooner. Hang in there, my DH and I have been trying for over a year but I'm 36 so it's expected to take a little long- UUUG

keep us posted

July 14, 2008

so were the cramps your AF ?

July 14, 2008

You betcha, got it full blown last night. Their so heavy and painful now. My cycles changed dramatically since I had the baby. I'm not quite sure when I actually ovulate. It was easy with my first, I ovulated day 14 exactly.

July 14, 2008

I have been trying 9 months

July 14, 2008

Sometimes it takes a healthy normal couple up to 12 months to conceive. But OPKs may be a good way to speed things up- or atleast give you an idea as to when you ovulate so you know when to plan your special mommy and daddy time :)

July 15, 2008

try to purchase the monitor if you could

July 15, 2008

otherwise track your tempertaure and cervical mucus.

July 15, 2008

I think I've decided to try charting the temp and cm and using opk's for the next two months and if no success then... I'll get the monitor. I am trying to make this happen fast and time is on my side in this case so I need not feel so rushed! I need to breathe too no matter how bad I want it.

July 15, 2008

i agree give it till your son is a year old time is definatly on your side your young and in good health it will happen did you go on birth control after your son

July 16, 2008

I tried the Mirena IUD and I lasted only a month with it in. My body reacted pretty bad with it. It was removed in early February and since then we haven't used any birth control.

Hi Naketa,

Just want to say best of luck ttc and baby dust to you

July 17, 2008

i feel like this month is going so slow i have no sign of ovulation yet and i have a decrease of cm side effect to clomid. anyway hopefully it will happen soon otherwise i am going to ask my doc on monday when i go for my follicle check to giv me a hcg shot

July 17, 2008

What day are you on right now? You must be reaching ovulation fairly soon. How many months have you and your husband been TTC? I haven't even heard of half the things your talking about... hcg shot? What has the doctor been attributing your infertility too. You seem too young to be going through this especially with three successful pregnancies before.

July 18, 2008

roday is day 12 had small amount of ovulation pains. my doctor seems to think that it is a hormone inbalance. so that is why he put me on the clomid. that is the mystery how could i have three healthy pregnancies and then five years later have a problem. we started ttc in june2007 (12months) i had two miscrriages in that time one in sept theother in may

July 18, 2008

Hi Peanut-

Secondary infertility is a very common issue with a lot of women. I know quite a few ladies on this site alone have a child- or multiple children- but some of them have been trying to conceive another baby with no luck- and some women try for years before they have the ability to.

I got pregnant (without trying) April 2007- in June 2007 I had to undergo a D & C as the baby no longer had a heartbeat. Hubby and I tried conceiving after the D & C and it took us until this APril 2008. It turns out that I have ovulation issues- and I don't ovulate regularly- even though I was getting a period every 30-31 days- also my thyroid level was CRAZY....

GOod luck!

July 18, 2008

congratulations did you use clomid or was it natural

July 18, 2008

you could try taking b/c pills for a month to re-start your cycles and get back on track. It works for lots of ladies. Plus, you have plenty of time hun, your baby isnt even a year. I got preggo again when my daughter was 15 months old and the kids are exactly 2 years, 2 days apart and are very, very close even tho they are not the same sex. I love the 2 year separation between them, seems to be perfect :)

Good luck!!

July 18, 2008

I was on 50 mg of clomid :)

July 22, 2008

naketa

so just wondering how your cycle is going so far did you start to chart? I ovulated on day 15 it was pretty bad it felt like my appendix was going to explode. i had to call the doc and he said it was from the follicles so we will see i am very hopeful this will work. I think timing was perfect to because we bd then about twenty minutes later pains got really bad

July 22, 2008

Well we got pregnant with #1 after just 3 mths of trying, but we've been trying for a year and a half, and just finished our 3rd round of Clomid for this baby #2. No luck yet. So don't be discouraged yet. 4 months is nothing to be worried about; especially with an 8 month old on your hands. Doctors won't really start testing until you've tried a good 10 months or so, b/c they say it can take healthy, normal couples up to 1 yr to conceive before they start worrying.

Just keep using the OPKs and track it as well as you can that way.

July 22, 2008

I am charting and it's going fairly well. I noticed some temps seems a bit off but we'll see. Seems like I have a long way to wait until ovulation... I'm just ready to get there!!

It certainly does sound like you guys timed everything perfectly. Now you can relax and wait the big wait.... when do you plan on taking a test?

July 22, 2008

i have to start progestrone on day 21 so fo some strange reason i am not that anciouse to test i think i am going to wait until 4 days before to see i really hope it takes this month the clomid was very hard on my body. i am in the same boat as you i feel like this month is going soooooooo slow keep me posted
