TTC #3

100_3272
His Mer...

December 03, 2008

I am 32 and my DH is 36. We have an 8yo daughter and a 5yo son. We have been TTC for 18 months now. I have always had trouble with recurrent pregnancy loss, but until recently have had trouble conceiving as well. After all our tests were completed, nothing really has shown up as abnormal. My egg reserve is a little low for my age, but nothing serious. I have short cycles (23-25 days) but ovulate on my own. My RE decided the best course of action is IUI with letrozole/femara and progesterone therapy. We had our first IUI in June 08, but it ended in miscarriage at 7wks. I had my 2nd IUI on 11/18/08. I took HPT on 12/1/08 but it was negative. My RE said to stop my progesterone, but I still have not gotten AF. I've been pg enough times to know what it feels like to be pg, but I don't feel like I have any symptoms. Please let me know if anyone else is going through this same thing.

I saw a comment you made on the 2ww after IUI thread and wanted to say that you have a similar problem I have except it looks as though you were successful once or twice.

I have had 5 MC's and they dont know why and all my and Dh's tests are normal...

My last MC was April 08 and nothing since then.

I just wanted to say thanks for sharing I feel less alone and abnormal now.

Best of Luck to you

I think this site is so wonderful to be able to connect with people that are going through similar things. Because all though my DH is very supportive, I do feel all alone sometimes!

I am so sorry for your losses! I have had a total of 3 miscarriages and 2 successful pregnancies. I wish you well in the new year. The "unexplained" is so devastating...because the Dr.s give you hope since all tests come back normal, but then you go through month after month of disappointment!

I haven't lost all hope yet! This is going to be our year! Best of luck and I look forward to following your journey of BFP in the very near future!

Hi His Mer! I got pregnant with my daughter on our fourth IUI. Now ttc no. 2. Had an IUI in NOv. and was neg. missed Dec. b/c my test showed I never ovulated and now am on my third round of clomid and plan to have another IUI this mo. my dr. said to give it 6 months, so if the 4th one doesn't work for you you should try a few more times. It is certainly a lot cheaper than IVf and worth the chance...blessings to you and your fam. Love your screen name...!

Thanks for the words of encouragment, Izzy's Mom! I'm trying to stay real positive this month, but I know that if it doesn't work this time it will happen. Best of luck to you with #2. And I'm glad you like my screen name. Sometimes that's the only thing that keeps me going is knowing that His mercy endureth forever! It's one of my favorite scriptures.

When is your iui going to be this month? I go for my first u/s tomorrow morning and I should know then when my iui will be...then the 2ww begins!

Hey! then we are in the same boat! Just had my u/s on thurs. and I had lots of follicles, but only 2 that looked good. thinking my next iui should be on the 19 of Jan.

praying that this is God's timing for our second child! hate the 2ww so much...it is just miserable. Having an almost 2 year old does help the time pass much quicker, however!

keep me posted!

I think October is a great due date! Now lets just hope that this is the Lords time too! You are in our prayers Izzy's Mom. I am half way through my 2ww. I have refused to buy anymore HPT's until by 14 days are up.

Hi Izzy, how'd your iui go today? What brand opk do you use? My RE never goes by opks, he always uses the u/s. I hope you are feeling well! If you don't mind me asking...how big were your follicles and did you do the ovidrel trigger? I only had one follicle this cycle and it was 24.5. I'm a little concerned that it is too big, but I'm trying to stay positive too. Oh did you see the post about the free prescription of femara? Hopefully you wont need it because you get your BFP this month...but femara is much like clomid with a lot less side effects(according to the doctor) but check out this site if you need to.

Hey! It went really well, except that I have had some cramping.. more than my previous iuis. the cramping has finally started to subside some, though.

my follicles were 17 and 18 on cd 12 and they were thinking that by today (cd 16) that I would be around a 22, but we did not do an u/s. My dr. is just an obgyn office and they always do the bare minimum. She did say today that I have a chance of twins this month if it works...which would be great with us! when I had my sono on thurs. a lady I go to church with was the sonographer! It was too cool. I walked in and was shocked to see her.She also said possiblity for twins! She really made me feel at ease and gave me an extra long sono.

I have always used the clearblue easy digital opk. The other ones are just so hard to read...at least to me.

As far as drugs the only one I have taken is clomid and I really have never had too many side effects. Just hot flashes and a little grumpy here and there. Never have done trigger shots.

I prayed for you tonight as I cleaned my kitchen! this site really helps you realize your not the only one going thru this and it helps me to think of others and pray for them!

hang in there....not too much longer and you can test!

I'm so excited for you possibility of twins. Oh what a wonderful blessing that would be. I do my daily bible reading in the mornings and follow it with prayer and you too were on my heart this morning. It is truly amazing how we so often can feel alone in this journey and yet also feel the presence of so many others going through the same thing we are!

I'm glad your cramping is starting to subside. I have had the same experience, my first iui left me really crampy for the rest of the day. Then the next 2 I never felt a thing and then this last one I had cramps again but not as bad as the first.

God bless you in your journey and I really appreciate your thoughtful comments. You are in my prayers daily.
