So I had my HSG this cycle & all looks well. No blockages and uterus looks great. Cannot do any more round of Clomid, already did 6. It made me O but still no BFP....Had follow-up with ob/gyn who said there was no more she could do and referred me to RE. This is good, HOWEVER I cannot afford to go to the RE and insurance doesn't cover anything related to infertility! So, I'm currently stuck, will keep TTC naturally until I can hopefully save up enough $ to at least have the initial consultation with RE (which is $215.00 by the way!)

It's frustrating and angering!

Look carefully at your insurance and talk with your RE office. Mine said it wouldnt cover anything related to infertility but it did cover all my office visits and testing with the way my RE's office coded it.

I called the insurance company directly, but I am planning on calling the RE's office Monday to speak with them about it too. Thanks! Do you know if there was some special code used or something so that they covered it?

Well, I have endo and mild PCOS, which are medical conditions, so my doc used those codes. Alot of times ins. companies will cover the testing for infertility but not the treatment. I would definitely call the RE and get them to check your benefits for you. They know how to ask those questions. Good luck!! = )

Hello Mrs.P-

I'm in the same boat as you are. I have PCOS and have been TTC #1 for 4 years. I have tried all oral combo meds and never ovulated. I actually don't have insurance, but have been able to finance my care through Care Credit.

The thing with me is, the Clomid DID make me ovulate but still no BFP- so they're concerned something more could be wrong. I hope not! Good Luck to you too!

Well, I'm supposed to see an RE but cannot afford it currently as my insurances doesn't cover anything (CHECKED AGAIN THIS MORNING, NOTHING!) They would probably do trigger shots next or maybe femera, I don't know, but my ob/gyn cannot do anything further.

Yes, but right at this moment, it's not quite possible. I'm a teacher and my husband is finishing up his Master's degree. We would probably have to wait until he gets out and gets a job, which may be a year from now... UG!
