Trying to have a second child....

July 09, 2008

I'm a 26 year old mom of a one year old daughter. I got pregnant missing 3 pills. Since her birth, 15 months ago, my husband and I haven't used any form of birth control because we wanted two children close in age. I am still trying to get pregnant. My question is why is it taking so long to have a second child? I do have PCOS dx through labs and u/s. I also have endometriosis. I had a laparoscopy in 2005. I went to the doctors a few months ago and he told me to come back in August if I haven't conceived. He also didn't have any answers for me, but talked about clomid. What are my chances of conceiving while on clomid if I don't get pregnant before than? Thank you so much!

Welcome Katie,

Chances are that in the interum from your last child, you may have developed PCOS like you stated..

Clomid will help you conceive another child, giving a live birth rate of 22% after 6 months of trying...

Good luck, and keep us posted..
