Trying to concieve 1st child with no patience :)

October 13, 2008

I have been trying to concieve for over a year, I have always had delayed periods and I have endometriosis on back of uterus which causes me extreme pain around ovulation and my menstrual, mostly most of the month :(. I have had 2 Laproscopies but still no luck on concieving or pain relieve :(. I have just started first round of Clomid tablets, days 2-6 50mg.

Wish me luck!!! getting desperate, and I have noooooo patience at all :).

get the clearblue easy smily opks they are great from what i hear.

start testing on cd 10 til you get a smily face which means it is time to bd

October 13, 2008

they are the best way to tell when you ovulate and there is no second gessing on when you ovulated or how many days past o you are :)

hope this helps if i have not explained the opks clearly or you don;t understand what i ment by it don't be afraid to ask everyone on this site httere are several girls that have used them good luck

October 13, 2008

I have been doing OPKs which have been telling me when I ovulate, but I still dont get pregnant :), thanks for your advice, I will have have to try them :), havent heard of them before, not sure if I can get them in England, we r a bit behind :)

October 13, 2008

have you been checked to make sure you are releasing an egg some people can ovaulte but noit release an egg

October 13, 2008

unfortuantly gettting pregnant takes time and i hate the 2 week waiting it is more like the 2 week tourture lol

October 13, 2008

I havent been checked for that?? but I always follow with my menstrual 2 weeks later, would that be a sign of ovulation?

October 13, 2008

I would get checked out to see if you do release an egg that is why you may not be getting pregnant. What all test have you had done?

October 13, 2008

no tests apart from prolactin level and 21 day progesterone check which came back fine?? I

October 13, 2008

I agree with the opk's, testing before cd10 is probably a waste of time. If you want, you can also bd every other day startin on cd10 for two weeks and that will cover you really well too :) I'm not sure about the test C&D is talking about, but if it's been over a year that you've been ttc, you may want to consider seeing an RE for some help. Best of luck :)

October 13, 2008

I am from England, what is an RE? sorry :)

October 13, 2008

An RE is a reproductive endocrinologist, like our very own DR. Q on here :) They are fertility docs who specialize in helping women with problems related to fertilty and ttc.

October 13, 2008

Thank you, I was told that I would be referred to an RE once they try me on Clomid for 6 months, 3 months 50mg, then up the dose if I dont get pregnant in that time frame. I am under a Gyneocologist at a hospital for my endometriosis, I am sure he deals with fertility also.

October 13, 2008

Yes, I'm sure he does, but remember that RE's are specially trained in fertility and you may waste 6 months staying with your gyno. I'm only saying this hun, cause it's been a year that you've been ttc. I'd hate to see you wait another 6 mnths and then find you need to go to an RE after all. You could consider just going for a consult?

October 13, 2008

I wouldnt know how 2 go about it, so difficult to get seen over here :( I am just trying 2 be a little bit more patient :). I am going 2 docs on Friday and will ask him about it. Thanks for your help :)

October 13, 2008

Yes I know, another member on here is from the UK and I've heard how difficult the healthcare system is over there. Push for what you want hun!!

October 13, 2008

I am going to become such an annoying person to the docs, they wont want to deal with me :) maybe I am not pushy enough

October 13, 2008

hi im from the uk and had to push my doctor no end made myself a real pain in the **** but it paid off and saw an re and we are having all the test done feel free to ask anything u want and i may be able to help

October 13, 2008

Thank you donnad, nice to know someone also from my neck of the woods :). I think I will just build meself up until I explode, otherwise I am always 2 nice and say "thats ok", when it really isnt. I am terrible for that :) I have to become more stronger

October 14, 2008

Hi and welcome Catherine. I too am from the UK. You can get the smiley OPK's here they are the Clearblue digital ones, I get mine from Boots. Like you I too have not been pushy with my doc however I do not really want to go down the IVF route so see no point in being pushy. Good Luck to you!! xx

October 14, 2008

Thanks for your response Suzi. I dont want IVF just yet, want to try every option 1st, so at least I know that I have tried, I do want the proper tests though, 2 find out the cause of my infertility, if there is any cause? I believe it is the endometriosis causing me problems as I have had so much trouble and pain with it. I know the smiley OPKs now, thanks! :) I have been using ebays ones lol they seem to do the trick though xx

October 14, 2008

Good luck!!! It is such a crazy journey when ttc! Lots of baby dusts and prayers!! :) keep us posted!

October 14, 2008

Thank u Fran, I will keep every1 posted, just hate the waiting game lol xx

October 14, 2008

I know......my dh and I tried for 6 months. I know that isn't bad at in comparison to many of the women on here, but it felt like an eternity!

October 14, 2008

I know any length feels like an eternity when u want a child so bad :) I am glad your wish came true :)

October 14, 2008

Hi Catherine! I too am ttc my first. We have been trying since July 07 and this is my 4th round of clomid. I find that it works well (although I needed 100 mg to make me ovulate). Do you track your Basil Body Temperature? This is my preferred method as the OPK's never give me accurate results.
