Trying to Conceive is a long journey with PCOS
Hello, My name is Brittany. My DH name is Jose. We have been married for almost 3 years now, together for about 5 yrs. We have been trying to conceive for approx 1.5 years. We started seeing and RE this past April. I knew that something was not right, my periods were not regular. Sometimes they would come at all and others they would last for 2 months straight.. On April 4, 2009, my Dr said that I had PCOS and immediately put me on Metformin 750mg 2x daily. I took metformin for about 3 months without any luck, it was making me ovulate but we didnt have any luck getting pregnant. So this past month my Dr gave me Clomid 50mg, which did not work either, Today I am due to start clomid 100mg. I am very nervous about the side effects. I really hope this works.. I will let yall know :)

Hi! I read through all the comments and it sounds like you guys are going through similar problems as me. A little background. I went off BC in June 2008. We started ttc in Sept 2008 but nothing happened. I charted awhile and took the OPK test as well but did not see ovulation. The only thing is that I do get AF. Around 19 to 25 days and have gotten it even at 17 days.
Went to see OBGYN in August 2009. Took all the tests necessary like bloodwork and HSG. Husband took his SA. His count is fine but he has agglutination. OBGYN recommended clomid and IUI. First cycle I was on 50 mg clomid, went in for two u/s but follicles never matured. Second cycle - 100 mg clomid and also went in for two u/s, still no mature follies. Had more bloodwork to see what my free testosterone numbers are and if I might have PCOS, which I am hoping I don't have. I don't have any of the symptoms of PCOS except when they did the u/s - the dr mentioned that I had small follies at the outer perimeter of my ovary but I did have one larger follicle - just not large enough to do its job!
Dr recommended that I see an RE since they can administer injectibles so we have appt on Monday.
It sucks that the follies are not cooperating!

I had another appt today to check my follicles. Looks like i have one follicle on the left side that is growing. It is currently 11.2mm.. I am going back on Monday to see if its grown to the size it needs to be..
Blondie my magic number for some reason is 18mm. I think thats the minimum size to ovulate
