Trying To Conceive for 6 months

I've been trying for 4 months. I was wondering after 6 months could I go see my OB/Gyn. I know you suppose to try for a year when you are under 35 with no other problems. But I just would feel secure knowing that I am doing everything right or wrong.
I am 23 years old and my fiance is 45 years old. He has Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

If you're not having regular periods, then going anytime is appropriate. If you're having regular periods, your gyne may just "pat you on the back"...You can always try and request fertility testing and some docs may do this, some won't, but it never hurts to try...
