November 30, 2007

My husband and I have been trying to conceive another child for three years now. My cycle is always irregular. What is a definate way for me to tell when i'm ovulating? Are there any sites with ovulation calculators that would work?

Has the pill reduced my chance of getting pregnant now? I've been off them for about 3 months.

Sometimes with the pill it can take time for your period to come because it is still in your system. Now keep in mind every person is different with it and every birth control pill is different. The pill just makes your ovaries go into a sleep pattern and it takes time for it to get out of your system. One question for you are you having your monthly cycle (period or af)? If so do you have to use a pad and/or tampon when it comes if not that is not a true period and you are not ovulating. If so count back 14 days when this full flow starts and that is when you are ovulating. Your most fertile days are 4 to 5 days before ovulation, day of ovulation, and day after ovulation. Also just to make sure if you are ovulating use ovulation predicator kits (opk) and they can help you loads to make sure when your are ovulating because you can ovulate anytime during the mth. Good luck and ***babydust***

Now if you haven't got your period you might want to contact your dr to see if there is something that can be done and also it might be other reasons beside the pill why you are not ovulating. I hope I helped you a lil bit and if you need more help or more questions pls let us know.

A good website to track your period over time is www.mymonthlycycles.com. It will also give you a general idea of when you will ovulate based on your period and the data you enter. It is free. You can pay to upgrade but I found the free information was enough and pretty darn accurate. I used this inconjunction with OPK.

You should try fertilityfriend.com I used it and OPK and BBT and I loved ff.com!!!

If you have irregular periods the online calculators to determine ovulation is not a good thing to use because ovulation can occur anytime during the mth. OPK's are highly recommended for your situation.
