Hey Jen Ive read some posts in here regarding thyroid issues and Dr Q says that as long as it is normal even under medication, u can get preggo.

Hey Jen, i have the opposite problem as you~ borderline hyperthyroidism. My doc never said it was a problem in ttc, and from what i've read about hypothyroidism, it shouldn't cause a problem as long as it's not out of control. I hope everything works out and you have no problems conceiving. :-)

Good luck hun and tons of BabyDust to you!

Hi Jen! I am not sure about the IUI part of this question, but I have dealt with Hypothyroidism for a long time, and as HopeN said just make sure that your levels remain within normal range when TTC and when pregnant. They can even be borderline low or high and I think that DR. Q said that it shouldn't pose a big problem to TTC as long as you have a regular cycle and you are ovulating.

I was diagnosed with severe Hypothyroidism ten years ago and my doctor put me on fertility meds and Birth control along with Snythroid to balance my hormones. Even though I wasn't trying to get pregnant at that time she wanted to make sure that she got my body back in balance because she said that if left untreated it could cause problems for me when/ if I tried to get pregnant later on.

Fast forward and I am now 36 and 10 weeks pregnant. I have always taken my thyroid meds because I feel really run down when I don't and I get bloodwork done every 3 - 6 months. I had an early miscarriage in Dec 07 but my doc didn't think that my hypothyroid had anything to do with it. But my doctor wants to monitor my thyroid every 8 weeks during the pregnancy to make sure that my thyroid is ok just to be on the safe side.

Good luck and I am sending you tons of BFP dust in the future.
